DOOR LOCK: SMART ACCESS SYSTEM WITH PUSH-BUTTON START: Key Luggage Compartment Lock-in Prevention Function does not Operate

Key Luggage Compartment Lock-in Prevention Function does not Operate

DESCRIPTION

If the entry luggage compartment lock-in prevention function does not operate, either of the following may be the cause: 1) communication between the indoor electrical key oscillator (for luggage compartment) and electrical key transmitter cannot be performed; or 2) a malfunction in the certification ECU.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

PROCEDURE

1. CHECK SMART ACCESS SYSTEM WITH PUSH-BUTTON START
(a) Check that the entry luggage compartment open function operates Smart Access System With Push-Button Start.
NG -- GO TO DTC OF OTHER COMPONENTS
OK -- Continue to next step.
2. CHECK WAVE ENVIRONMENT
(a) Bring the electrical key transmitter near the indoor electrical key oscillator (for luggage compartment), and check that the entry luggage compartment lock-in prevention function operates.
NOTE: If the key is brought within 0.2 m (0.656 ft.)of the indoor electrical key oscillator, communication is not possible.
HINT:
- When the electrical key transmitter is brought near the indoor electrical key oscillator (for luggage compartment), the possibility of wave interference decreases, and it can be determined if wave interference is causing the problem symptom.
- If the inspection result is that the operation check is normal, the possibility of wave interference is high. Also, added vehicle components may cause wave interference. If installed, remove them and perform the operation check.

NG -- KEY DIAGNOSTIC MODE
OK -- AFFECTED BY WAVE INTERFERENCE
3. KEY DIAGNOSTIC MODE

(a) Diagnostic mode inspection indoor electrical key oscillator (for luggage compartment)
(1) Connect the intelligent tester or Techstream to the DLC3.
(2) Turn the power switch ON (IG).
(3) Turn the tester on.
(4) Enter the following menus:

- Intelligent tester - Select: DIAGNOSIS / OBD/MOBD / SMART ACCESS / ID UTILITY / SMART DIAGMODE / LUGG + OVERHEAD.
- Techstream - Select: Body Electrical / Smart Access / Smart Communication Check /Overhead + Luggage.

(5) When the electrical key transmitter is held at the same height as the rear bumper upper surface and aligned with the center of the rear of the vehicle, check that the wireless door lock buzzer sounds.
HINT: If the buzzer sounds, it can be determined that the luggage compartment interior transmitter is operating normally.

OK:
Wireless door lock buzzer sounds
NG -- CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (CERTIFICATION ECU - INDOOR ELECTRICAL KEY OSCILLATOR)
OK -- REPLACE CERTIFICATION ECU
4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (CERTIFICATION ECU - INDOOR ELECTRICAL KEY OSCILLATOR)

(a) Disconnect the L15 ECU connector.
(b) Disconnect the S44 oscillator connector.
(c) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard resistance:

NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- Continue to next step.
5. CHECK INDOOR ELECTRICAL KEY OSCILLATOR (OPERATION)
(a) Replace the indoor electrical key oscillator with a new one or normally functioning one Removal.
(b) Check that the entry function operates normally Smart Access System With Push-Button Start.
OK:
Operates normally
NG -- REPLACE CERTIFICATION ECU
OK -- END (INDOOR ELECTRICAL KEY OSCILLATOR IS DEFECTIVE)
