INSPECTION MODE PROCEDURE
HINT: Before performing the Data List and Active Test of the engine with the intelligent tester or Techstream, be sure to put the system into inspection mode using the following procedures.
1. ACTIVATING INSPECTION MODE
(a) When not using the intelligent tester or Techstream
(1) Perform the following steps in 60 seconds.
1 Turn the power switch ON (IG).
2 Fully depress the accelerator pedal 4 times with the shift lever in the P range.
3 Fully depress the accelerator pedal 4 times with the shift lever in the N range.
4 Fully depress the accelerator pedal 4 times with the shift lever in the P range.
5 Check that the "MAINTENANCE MODE" on the multi-information display is illuminated in the combination meter.
6 Turn the power switch ON (READY).
NOTE: If the vehicle is driven in inspection mode, the hybrid vehicle transmission may be damaged. Therefore, make sure to exit inspection mode before performing the driving test.
(2) To end inspection mode, turn the power switch OFF.
(b) When using the intelligent tester or Techstream
(1) Connect the intelligent tester to the DLC3.
(2) Turn the power switch ON (IG).
(3) Turn the tester ON.
(4) Enter the following menus:
1 Intelligent tester - Select: DIAGNOSIS / OBD/MOBD / HV ECU / ACTIVE TEST / INSPECTION MOD 3 / ON.
2 Techstream - Select: Powertrain / Hybrid Control / Active Test / Inspection Mode-4WD Inspection.
(5) Check that the "MAINTENANCE MODE" on the multi-information display is illuminated in the combination meter.
(6) Turn the power switch ON (READY).
NOTE: If the vehicle is driven in inspection mode, the hybrid vehicle transmission may be damaged. Therefore, make sure to exit inspection mode before performing the driving test.
(7) To end inspection mode, turn the power switch OFF.
