DTC B1214 - Short to B+ in Door System Communication Bus Malfunction

DTC B1215 - Short to GND in Door System Communication Bus Malfunction

DESCRIPTION
- When a +B or body ground short circuit is detected on the door system communication bus (BEAN), the door system communication bus (BEAN) is disabled and a DTC is output.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

PROCEDURE

1.
CHECK FOR DTC (MULTIPLEX NETWORK MASTER SWITCH)




(a) Disconnect the Q13 master switch connector.
(b) Turn the power switch ON (IG).
(c) Clear the DTC.
(d) Check for DTCs.
OK:
DTCs B1214 and B1215 are not output.
OK -- REPLACE MULTIPLEX NETWORK MASTER SWITCH
NG -- Continue to next step.
2.
CHECK FOR DTC (CERTIFICATION ECU)




(a) Reconnect the Q13 master switch connector.
(b) Disconnect the U28 certification ECU connector.
(c) Turn the power switch ON (IG).
(d) Clear the DTC.
(e) Check for DTCs.
OK:
DTCs B1214 and B1215 are not output.
OK -- REPLACE CERTIFICATION ECU
NG -- Continue to next step.

CHECK WIRE HARNESS (MASTER SWITCH - CERTIFICATION ECU)




(a) Disconnect the Q13 master switch connector.
(b) Turn the power switch ON (IG).
(c) Clear the DTC.
(d) Check for DTCs.
OK:
DTCs B1214 and B1215 are not output.
NG -- CHECK FOR DTC (POSITION CONTROL ECU AND SWITCH RH)
OK -- Continue to next step.

CHECK FOR DTC (DRIVER DOOR ECU)




(a) Reconnect the Q13 master switch and U28 certification ECU connectors.
(b) Disconnect the M9 driver door ECU connector.
(c) Turn the power switch ON (IG).
(d) Clear the DTC.
(e) Check for DTCs.
OK:
DTCs B1214 and B1215 are not output.
OK -- REPLACE MULTIPLEX NETWORK FRONT DOOR ECU LH (DRIVER DOOR ECU)
NG -- Continue to next step.
5.
CHECK WIRE HARNESS (MULTIPLEX NETWORK MASTER SWITCH - DRIVER DOOR ECU)




(a) Disconnect the Q13 master switch connector.
(b) Turn the power switch ON (IG).
(c) Clear the DTC.
(d) Check for DTCs.
OK:
DTCs B1214 and B1215 are not output.
OK -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR (MASTER SWITCH - DRIVER DOOR ECU)
NG -- Continue to next step.
6.
CHECK FOR DTC (REAR DOOR ECU LH)




(a) Reconnect the Q13 master switch and M9 driver door ECU connectors.
(b) Disconnect the O7 rear door ECU LH connector.
(c) Turn the power switch ON (IG).
(d) Clear the DTC.
(e) Check for DTCs.
OK:
DTCs B1214 and B1215 are not output.
OK -- REPLACE MULTIPLEX NETWORK REAR DOOR ECU LH (REAR DOOR ECU LH)
NG -- Continue to next step.
7.
CHECK WIRE HARNESS (DRIVER DOOR ECU - REAR DOOR ECU LH)




(a) Disconnect the M9 driver door ECU connector.
(b) Turn the power switch ON (IG).
(c) Clear the DTC.
(d) Check for DTCs.
OK:
DTCs B1214 and B1215 are not output.
OK -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR (DRIVER DOOR ECU - REAR DOOR ECU LH)
NG -- Continue to next step.
8.
CHECK FOR DTC (REAR DOOR ECU RH)




(a) Reconnect the M9 driver door ECU and O7 rear door ECU LH connectors.
(b) Disconnect the O3 rear door ECU RH connector.
(c) Turn the power switch ON (IG).
(d) Clear the DTC.
(e) Check for DTCs.
OK:
DTCs B1214 and B1215 are not output.
OK -- REPLACE MULTIPLEX NETWORK REAR DOOR ECU RH (REAR DOOR ECU RH)
NG -- Continue to next step.
9.
CHECK WIRE HARNESS (REAR DOOR ECU RH - REAR DOOR ECU LH)




(a) Disconnect the O7 rear door ECU LH connector.
(b) Turn the power switch ON (IG).
(c) Clear the DTC.
(d) Check for DTCs.
OK:
DTCs B1214 and B1215 are not output.
OK -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR (REAR DOOR ECU RH - REAR DOOR ECU LH)
NG -- Continue to next step.
10.
CHECK FOR DTC (PASSENGER DOOR ECU)




(a) Reconnect the O7 rear door ECU LH and O3 rear door ECU RH connectors.
(b) Disconnect the M4 front passenger door ECU connector.
(c) Turn the power switch ON (IG).
(d) Clear the DTC.
(e) Check for DTCs.
OK:
DTCs B1214 and B1215 are not output.
OK -- REPLACE MULTIPLEX NETWORK FRONT DOOR ECU RH (PASSENGER DOOR ECU)
NG -- Continue to next step.
11.
CHECK WIRE HARNESS (REAR DOOR ECU RH - PASSENGER DOOR ECU)




(a) Disconnect the O3 rear door ECU RH connector.
(b) Turn the power switch ON (IG).
(c) Clear the DTC.
(d) Check for DTCs.
OK:
DTCs B1214 and B1215 are not output.
OK -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR (REAR DOOR ECU RH - PASSENGER DOOR ECU)
NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR (PASSENGER DOOR ECU - CERTIFICATION ECU)

CHECK FOR DTC (POSITION CONTROL ECU AND SWITCH RH)




(a) Reconnect the Q13 master switch and U28 certification ECU connectors.
(b) Disconnect the a7 position control ECU connector.
(c) Turn the power switch ON (IG).
(d) Clear the DTC.
(e) Check for DTCs.
OK:
DTCs B1214 and B1215 are not output.
OK -- REPLACE POSITION CONTROL ECU AND SWITCH (for Passenger Side)
NG -- Continue to next step.
13.
CHECK FOR DTC (OVERHEAD JUNCTION BLOCK)




(a) Reconnect the a7 position control ECU connector.
(b) Disconnect the W8 and W6 overhead junction block connectors.
(c) Turn the power switch ON (IG).
(d) Clear the DTC.
(e) Check for DTCs.
OK:
DTCs B1214 and B1215 are not output.

CHECK FOR DTC (SLIDING ROOF CONTROL ECU)




(a) Reconnect the W6 and W8 overhead junction block connectors.
(b) Disconnect the W7 sliding roof control ECU connector.
(c) Turn the power switch ON (IG).
(d) Clear the DTC.
(e) Check for DTCs.
OK:
DTCs B1214 and B1215 are not output.
OK -- REPLACE SLIDING ROOF CONTROL ECU
NG -- Continue to next step.
15. CHECK WIRE HARNESS (SLIDING ROOF CONTROL ECU - OVERHEAD JUNCTION BLOCK)




(a) Disconnect the W8 and W6 overhead junction block connectors.
(b) Measure the voltage and resistance of the wire harness side connector.
Standard voltage:

CHECK FOR DTC (RAIN SENSOR)




(a) Reconnect the W7 sliding roof control ECU connector (*1).
HINT: *1: w/ Sliding Roof
(b) Reconnect the W8 and W6 overhead junction block connectors.
(c) Disconnect the W4 rain sensor connector.
(d) Turn the power switch ON (IG).
(e) Clear the DTC.
(f) Check for DTCs.
OK:
DTCs B1214 and B1215 are not output.
OK -- REPLACE RAIN SENSOR
NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR (RAIN SENSOR - OVERHEAD JUNCTION BLOCK)

CHECK WIRE HARNESS (NETWORK GATEWAY ECU - POWER SOURCE CONTROL ECU AND CERTIFICATION ECU)




(a) Reconnect the W8 and W6 overhead Junction block connectors.
(b) Disconnect the K66 network gateway ECU, K73 power source control ECU and U28 certification ECU connectors.
(c) Measure the voltage and resistance of the wire harness side connector.
Standard voltage:

NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR (GATEWAY ECU - POWER SOURCE ECU AND CERTIFICATION ECU)
OK -- Continue to next step.
18. CHECK WIRE HARNESS (POWER SOURCE CONTROL ECU - MULTIPLEX NETWORK MASTER SWITCH)




(a) Reconnect the K66 network gateway ECU and U28 certification ECU connector.
(b) Disconnect the a7 position control ECU, W6 junction block and Q13 master switch connectors.
(c) Measure the voltage and resistance of the wire harness side connector.
Standard voltage:






Standard resistance:






NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR (POWER SOURCE CONTROL ECU - MULTIPLEX NETWORK MASTER SWITCH)
OK -- Continue to next step.
19. REPLACE NETWORK GATEWAY ECU
(a) Replace the network gateway ECU with a normally functioning one.
(b) Turn the power switch on (IG).
(c) Clear the DTC.
(d) Check for DTCs.
OK:
DTCs B1214 and B1215 are not output.
NG -- REPLACE POWER SOURCE CONTROL ECU
OK -- END (NETWORK GATEWAY ECU IS DEFECTIVE)
