INSPECTION PROCEDURE
PROCEDURE
1. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (HEIGHT CONTROL SENSOR)
(a) Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
(b) Turn the power switch ON (IG) and turn the Techstream on.
(c) Select the items below in the DATA LIST, and read the displays on the Techstream.
AFS (AFS ECU)
OK:
Condition value will be displayed.
Result
C -- PROCEED TO NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE
B -- REPLACE AFS ECU
A -- Continue to next step.
2.
CHECK FRONT HEIGHT CONTROL SENSOR LH
(a) Disconnect the A20 sensor connector.
(b) Measure the voltage of the wire harness side connector.
Standard voltage:
NG -- CHECK AFS ECU
OK -- Continue to next step.
3.
CHECK REAR HEIGHT CONTROL SENSOR LH
(a) Disconnect the o2 sensor connector.
(b) Measure the voltage of the wire harness side connector.
Standard voltage:
NG -- CHECK AFS ECU
OK -- Continue to next step.
4.
CHECK WIRE HARNESS (ECU - FRONT HEIGHT CONTROL SENSOR)
(a) Disconnect the A20 sensor connector.
(b) Disconnect the A28 ECU connector.
(c) Measure the resistance of the wire harness side connectors.
Standard resistance:
NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- Continue to next step.
5.
CHECK WIRE HARNESS (AFS ECU - REAR HEIGHT CONTROL SENSOR)
(a) Disconnect the A29 AFS ECU connector.
(b) Disconnect the o2 sensor connector.
(c) Measure the resistance of the wire harness side connectors.
Standard resistance:
NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- Continue to next step.
6.
INSPECT FRONT HEIGHT CONTROL SENSOR LH
(a) Connect the 3 dry cell batteries (1.5 V) in series.
(b) Remove the height control sensor assembly front.
(c) Connect the positive (+) lead from the battery to terminal 3 and the negative (-) lead from the battery to terminal 1.
(d) Measure the voltage between terminals 2 and 1 while slowly moving the link up and down.
Standard voltage:
NG -- REPLACE FRONT HEIGHT CONTROL SENSOR LH
OK -- Continue to next step.
7.
INSPECT REAR HEIGHT CONTROL SENSOR LH
(a) Connect the 3 dry cell batteries (1.5 V) in series.
(b) Remove the height control sensor assembly rear.
(c) Connect the positive (+) lead from the battery to terminal 3 and the negative (-) lead from the battery to terminal 1.
(d) Measure the voltage between terminals 2 and 1 while slowly moving the link up and down.
Standard voltage:
C -- REPLACE REAR HEIGHT CONTROL SENSOR LH
B -- PROCEED TO NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE
A -- REPLACE AFS ECU
8.
