DESCRIPTION

The leveling actuator receives the signal from the AFS ECU to operate. The AFS ECU receives signals regarding the operating conditions of the leveling actuator.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

PROCEDURE

1. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING TECHSTREAM (HEADLIGHT BEAM LEVEL CONTROL MOTOR)
(a) Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
(b) Turn the power switch ON (IG) and turn the Techstream on.
(c) Select the item below in the ACTIVE TEST and then check the motor operation.

AFS (AFS ECU)





OK:
Headlight beam leveling control motor is operated.

C -- PROCEED TO NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE
B -- REPLACE AFS ECU
A -- Continue to next step.
2. CHECK WIRE HARNESS (MOTOR - ECU AND BODY GROUND)




(a) Disconnect the B11 and B2 motor connectors.
(b) Disconnect the A28 AFS ECU connector.
(c) Measure the resistance of the wire harness side connectors.
Standard resistance:

for LH (B2417)





for RH (B2418):






NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- Continue to next step.

INSPECT HEADLIGHT LEVELING MOTOR




(a) Measure the resistance of the connector.
