DESCRIPTION
The ECM detects the fuel lid courtesy switch operation and transmits this data to the No. 1 meter ECU. According to the data from the ECM, the No. 1 meter ECU displays "CLOSE FUEL LID" on the multi-information display if the fuel filler door is open, and does not display "CLOSE FUEL LID" if the fuel filler door is closed. If the fuel filler door is closed, but "CLOSE FUEL LID" is displayed on the multi-information display, the fuel lid courtesy switch circuit has a malfunction.

PROCEDURE
1. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (FUEL LID OPENING LID LOCK, FUEL FILLER OPENING LID LOCK)
(a) Operate the Techstream according to the display and select the "Data List" Scan Tool Testing and Procedures.
Engine and ECT:
OK:
Switch condition can be switched by actual operation.
NG -- INSPECT FUEL FILLER OPENING LID LOCK SUB-ASSEMBLY
OK -- REPLACE ECM
2. INSPECT FUEL FILLER OPENING LID LOCK SUB-ASSEMBLY
(a) Remove the lid lock Removal.
(b) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard resistance:
NG -- REPLACE FUEL FILLER OPENING LID LOCK SUB-ASSEMBLY
OK -- Continue to next step.
3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (FUEL LID COURTESY SWITCH - ECM AND BODY GROUND)
(a) Disconnect the S68 switch connector.
(b) Disconnect the A13 ECM connector.
(c) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard resistance:
NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- Continue to next step.
4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (ECM - NO. 1 METER ECU)
(a) Disconnect the A14 ECM connector.
(b) Disconnect the L10 ECU connector.
(c) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard resistance:
NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- Continue to next step.
5. REPLACE ECM
(a) Temporarily replace the ECM with a new one or normally functioning one Removal.
NEXT -- Continue to next step.
6. CHECK METER / GAUGE SYSTEM (MULTI-INFORMATION DISPLAY)
(a) Check the multi-information display when the fuel filler door is closed.
OK:
"CLOSE FUEL LID" is not displayed at the multi-information display.
NG -- REPLACE NO. 1 METER ECU
OK -- END (ECM IS DEFECTIVE)
