BRAKE CONTROL: SKID CONTROL ECU: REMOVAL
REMOVAL
NOTICE:
While the battery is connected, even if the power switch is OFF, the brake control system activates when the brake pedal is depressed or the door courtesy switch turns on. Therefore during servicing of the brake system components, do not operate the brake pedal or open/close the doors while the battery is connected.
1. REMOVE ENGINE ROOM SIDE COVER LH Removal
2. REMOVE V-BANK COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY Removal
3. REMOVE LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT MAT SUB-ASSEMBLY Removal
4. REMOVE BATTERY SERVICE HOLE COVER LH Removal
5. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
CAUTION:
Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to prevent airbag and seat belt pretensioner activation.
NOTICE:
- When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected Repair Instruction - Initialization.
- After the power switch is turned OFF, the HDD navigation system requires approximately 6 minutes to record various types of memory and settings. As a result, after turning the power switch OFF, wait 6 minutes or more before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.
6. REMOVE BATTERY SERVICE HOLE COVER Removal
7. REMOVE SERVICE PLUG GRIP Removal
8. DISCONNECT NO. 1 MOTOR COOLING PIPE
(a) Remove the bolt and disconnect the No. 1 motor cooling pipe from the skid control ECU bracket.
9. REMOVE SKID CONTROL ECU
(a) Disconnect the short connector for the brake stroke simulator cylinder from the bracket of the skid control ECU.
(b) Remove the 2 bolts, nut and ECU.
(c) Pull the 2 lock levers upward to release the locks and disconnect the 2 connectors (labeled A).
(d) Disconnect the connector.
10. DISCONNECT NO. 3 RELAY BLOCK Removal
11. DISCONNECT BRAKE FLUID RESERVOIR
(a) Remove the 2 bolts.
(b) Disconnect the brake fluid reservoir.
12. REMOVE SKID CONTROL ECU BRACKET
(a) Remove the 2 nuts, bolt and bracket.
