BRAKE CONTROL: STEERING ANGLE SENSOR: REMOVAL

REMOVAL
NOTICE:
While the battery is connected, even if the power switch is OFF, the brake control system activates when the brake pedal is depressed or the door courtesy switch turns on. Therefore during servicing of the brake system components, do not operate the brake pedal or open/close the doors while the battery is connected.

1. PRECAUTION
CAUTION:
Be sure to read the "PRECAUTION" thoroughly before servicing Service Precautions.

2. REMOVE LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT MAT SUB-ASSEMBLY Removal
3. REMOVE BATTERY SERVICE HOLE COVER LH Removal
4. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
(a) Disable the AUTO TILT AWAY function by changing the customize parameter Repair Instruction - Customize Parameters.
NOTICE:
Record the current customize parameter setting (whether the AUTO TILT AWAY function is enabled or disabled) in order to restore the current setting after finishing the operation.
HINT: Performing the above operation causes the AUTO TILT AWAY function to be disabled when the power switch is turned OFF.

(b) Turn the power switch ON (IG). Operate the tilt and telescopic switch to fully extend and lower the steering column.
(c) Turn the power switch OFF and disconnect the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.
CAUTION:
Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to prevent airbag and seat belt pretensioner activation.
NOTICE:
- When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected Repair Instruction - Initialization.
- After the power switch is turned OFF, the HDD navigation system requires approximately 6 minutes to record various types of memory and settings. As a result, after turning the power switch OFF, wait 6 minutes or more before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.

5. REMOVE BATTERY SERVICE HOLE COVER Removal

7. PLACE FRONT WHEELS FACING STRAIGHT AHEAD
8. REMOVE SWITCH AND VOLUME CASE Removal
9. REMOVE NO. 2 STEERING WHEEL COVER LOWER Removal
10. REMOVE STEERING PAD Removal
11. REMOVE STEERING WHEEL ASSEMBLY Removal
12. REMOVE STEERING COLUMN COVER (w/o Driver Monitor Camera) Removal
13. REMOVE STEERING COLUMN COVER (w/ Driver Monitor Camera) Removal
14. REMOVE SPIRAL CABLE WITH STEERING SENSOR Removal
15. REMOVE STEERING ANGLE SENSOR





(a) Detach the 6 claws and remove the steering sensor.
