U1100
CAN COMMUNICATION: CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM: U1100: Lost Communication with Seat Belt Control ECU
U1100 - Lost Communication with Seat Belt Control ECU
DESCRIPTION
The gateway ECU will store this DTC when no signals can be received from the seat belt control ECU while the CAN No. 2 main bus is normal.
WIRING DIAGRAM
INSPECTION PROCEDURE
NOTICE:
* Turn the engine switch off before measuring the resistance of CAN bus main wires and CAN bus branch wires.
* After the engine switch is turned off, check that the key reminder warning system and light reminder warning system are not in operation.
* Before measuring the resistance, leave the vehicle as is for at least 1 minute and do not operate the engine switch, any other switches, or the doors. If any doors need to be opened in order to check connectors, open the doors and leave them open.
PROCEDURE
1. CHECK DTC
(a) Check for DTCs.
HINT
If CAN No. 2 bus DTC U1002 is output, troubleshoot for U1002 and check for malfunctions in the CAN MS main bus circuit.
Result:
B -- GO TO DTC CHART CAN Communication System
A -- Continue to next step.
2. CHECK CAN NO. 2 BUS WIRE (SEAT BELT CONTROL ECU)
(a) Turn the engine switch off.
(b) Disconnect connector M38 from the seat belt control ECU.
(c) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard resistance:
NG -- CHECK CAN NO. 2 BUS BRANCH WIRE (SEAT BELT CONTROL ECU)
OK -- Continue to next step.
3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (IG1, PGND)
(a) Disconnect connector M37 from the seat belt control ECU.
(b) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard resistance:
(c) Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard voltage:
NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- REPLACE SEAT BELT CONTROL ECU Removal
4. CHECK CAN NO. 2 BUS BRANCH WIRE (SEAT BELT CONTROL ECU)
(a) Disconnect the seat belt control ECU branch wire connector M16.
(b) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard resistance:
NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE CAN NO. 2 BUS BRANCH WIRE OR CONNECTOR (SEAT BELT CONTROL ECU BRANCH WIRE)
OK -- Continue to next step.
5. CHECK CAN NO. 2 BUS MAIN WIRE (CAN NO. 1 J/C - CAN NO. 4 J/C)
(a) Disconnect CAN No. 1 J/C main wire connector M15 from the CAN No. 4 J/C.
(b) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard resistance:
NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE CAN NO. 1 BUS MAIN WIRE OR CONNECTOR (CAN NO. 1 J/C - CAN NO. 4 J/C)
OK -- REPLACE CAN NO. 4 J/C
