POWER STEERING: POWER STEERING SYSTEM: C1521-C1524,C1532,C1555: Motor Circuit Malfunction


DESCRIPTION

The power steering ECU supplies current to the power steering motor through this circuit.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

PROCEDURE

1. CHECK WIRE HARNESS (POWER STEERING ECU - POWER STEERING MOTOR)

(a) Disconnect the C4 connector from the power steering ECU.





(b) Disconnect the C3 connector from the power steering motor.

(c) Measure the resistance of the wire harness side connector.

Standard resistance:





NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- Continue to next step.

2. INSPECT POWER STEERING LINK ASSEMBLY (POWER STEERING MOTOR)

(a) Measure the resistance of the power steering motor connector.





Standard resistance:





NOTICE:
- If replacing the power steering link assembly, clear the rotation angle sensor calibration value, initialize the rotation angle sensor, and calibrate the torque sensor zero point Power Steering System.
- If replacing the power steering ECU, initialize the rotation angle sensor and calibrate the torque sensor zero point Power Steering System.
- If replacing the power steering link assembly, perform VGRS actuator angle initialization Initialization and VGRS actuator angle neutral calibration Calibration after wheel alignment adjustment.

NG -- REPLACE POWER STEERING LINK ASSEMBLY

OK -- REPLACE POWER STEERING ECU
