B2090 - Driving Support System Malfunction

DESCRIPTION

The seat belt control ECU receives collision information from the driving support ECU and brake booster with master cylinder (skid control ECU) via CAN communication, and tightens the seat belts by operating the motor inside the front seat outer belt assembly.

When the driving support ECU detects a malfunction in the dynamic radar cruise control system and pre-collision system, the malfunction information is sent to the seat belt control ECU, which outputs this DTC.

When DTC B2090 is detected, other DTCs are also stored by the driving support ECU (dynamic radar cruise control system and pre-collision system).





INSPECTION PROCEDURE

HINT
When clearing the DTCs, first clear the DTC output from the driving support ECU (Pre-Collision 2), and then clear the DTC output from the seat belt control ECU.

PROCEDURE

1. CHECK DTC OUTPUT (DYNAMIC RADAR CRUISE CONTROL SYSTEM)

(a) Check DTCs for the dynamic radar cruise control system Dynamic Radar Cruise Control System.

OK:

Dynamic radar cruise control system DTCs are not output.

Result:





C -- GO TO DYNAMIC RADAR CRUISE CONTROL SYSTEM Dynamic Radar Cruise Control System

B -- CHECK DTC OUTPUT (DRIVING SUPPORT ECU (PRE-COLLISION 2))
A -- Continue to next step.

2. CHECK DTC OUTPUT (LANE KEEPING ASSIST SYSTEM)

(a) Check DTCs for the lane keeping assist system Reading and Clearing Diagnostic Trouble Codes.

OK:

Lane keeping assist system DTC is not output.

NG -- GO TO LANE KEEPING ASSIST SYSTEM
OK -- Continue to next step.

3. CHECK DTC OUTPUT (DRIVING SUPPORT ECU (PRE-COLLISION 2))

(a) Using the Techstream, enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Pre-Collision 2 / Trouble Codes.

(b) Check for DTCs Pre-Collision System.

OK:

"Pre-Collision 2" DTC is not output.

NG -- GO TO DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART Pre-Collision System
OK -- Continue to next step.

4. CHECK DTC OUTPUT (PRE-COLLISION SYSTEM)

(a) Using the Techstream, enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Pre-Collision / Trouble Codes.

(b) Clear the DTCs Pre-Collision System.

(c) Recheck for DTCs.

OK:

DTC B2090 is not output.

NG -- REPLACE SEAT BELT CONTROL ECU

OK -- END
