C2191/91 - Vehicle Speed Signal Error (Test Mode DTC)
DESCRIPTION
The tire pressure warning ECU receives speed signals from the combination meter via CAN communication. This DTC is stored upon entering test mode (signal check mode), and cleared when a vehicle speed signal of 20 km/h (12 mph) is detected for 3 seconds or more. This DTC is output only in test mode (signal check mode).
INSPECTION PROCEDURE
NOTICE:
- When replacing the tire pressure warning ECU, read the IDs stored in the old ECU using the Techstream and write them down before removal.
- It is necessary to perform initialization Initialization after registration Registration of the transmitter IDs into the tire pressure warning ECU after the ECU has been replaced.
PROCEDURE
1. CHECK CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM
(a) Turn the power switch off.
(b) Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
(c) Turn the power switch on (IG) and turn the Techstream on.
(d) Enter the following menus: "Bus Check" from the "System Select" / "Communication Malfunction DTC" from the "Bus Check" screen.
(e) Check the CAN communication system Diagnosis System.
OK:
The CAN communication system is normal.
NG -- GO TO CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM How to Proceed With Troubleshooting
OK -- Continue to next step.
2. CHECK VEHICLE SPEED SIGNAL (DATA LIST)
(a) Turn the power switch off.
(b) Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
(c) Turn the power switch on (IG) and turn the Techstream on.
(d) Enter the following menus: Chassis / Tire Pressure Monitor / Data List.
(e) Check that the values indicated on the Techstream and on the combination meter are the same.
Tire Pressure
OK:
The vehicle speed displayed on the Techstream changes depending on the actual vehicle speed.
NG -- GO TO METER / GAUGE SYSTEM
OK -- REPLACE TIRE PRESSURE WARNING ECU
