P1631
CRUISE CONTROL: DYNAMIC RADAR CRUISE CONTROL SYSTEM: P1631: Communication Error from ECM to VSC
P1631 - Communication Error from ECM to VSC
DESCRIPTION
The hybrid vehicle control ECU sends signals such as dynamic radar cruise control operation signals, brake operation demand signals, and buzzer operation demand signals to the brake booster with master cylinder (skid control ECU) when the dynamic radar cruise control is in operation. The hybrid vehicle control ECU is the only component that has a function to record and output the DTCs in the dynamic radar cruise control system. Therefore, if the brake booster with master cylinder (skid control ECU) detects a communication error from the hybrid vehicle control ECU, it sends a malfunction signal back to the hybrid vehicle control ECU.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE
PROCEDURE
1. READ OUTPUT DTC (DTC P1631)
(a) Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
(b) Turn the power switch on (IG).
(c) Turn the Techstream on.
(d) Clear the DTCs Dynamic Radar Cruise Control System.
(e) Perform the following to make sure that the DTC detection conditions are met.
HINT
If the detection conditions are not met, the malfunction cannot be detected.
(1) Drive the vehicle at a speed of 50 km/h (30 mph) or more.
(2) Turn the cruise control main switch on.
(3) Push the -SET switch to activate the cruise control.
(f) Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Radar Cruise / Trouble Codes.
(g) Read the DTCs Dynamic Radar Cruise Control System.
Result:
B -- REPLACE HYBRID VEHICLE CONTROL ECU
A -- USE SIMULATION METHOD TO CHECK How To Proceed With Troubleshooting
2. REPLACE HYBRID VEHICLE CONTROL ECU
(a) Replace the hybrid vehicle control ECU Removal.
NEXT -- Continue to next step.
3. CHECK WHETHER DTC OUTPUT RECURS (DTC P1631)
