P3110-223 - IGCT Relay Malfunction

DESCRIPTION

The hybrid vehicle control ECU monitors the IGCT relay and detects malfunctions.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

HINT
If the battery voltage is applied to terminal +B, +B2, or MREL of the hybrid vehicle control ECU, even though the power switch is off, the circuit is shorted to +B.

PROCEDURE

1. INSPECT RELAY (IGCT RELAY)

(a) Remove the IGCT relay from the engine room junction block assembly.





(b) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Resistance:

(c) Install the IGCT relay.

NG -- REPLACE RELAY (IGCT RELAY)
OK -- Continue to next step.

2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (HYBRID VEHICLE CONTROL ECU - ENGINE ROOM JUNCTION BLOCK)

(a) Disconnect connector A58 from the hybrid vehicle control ECU connector.

(b) Remove the IGCT relay from the engine room junction block assembly.

(c) Turn the power switch on (IG).

(d) Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Voltage:





NOTICE:
Turning the power switch on (IG) with the hybrid vehicle control ECU connectors disconnected causes other DTCs to be stored. Clear the DTCs after performing this inspection.

(e) Turn the power switch off.

(f) Install the IGCT relay.

(g) Connect the hybrid vehicle control ECU connector.
