SUSPENSION CONTROL: FRONT ACCELERATION SENSOR: REMOVAL
1. REMOVE LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT MAT SUB-ASSEMBLY Removal
2. REMOVE BATTERY SERVICE HOLE COVER LH Removal
3. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
CAUTION:
Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to prevent airbag and seat belt pretensioner activation.
NOTICE:
* w/ Navigation System (for HDD):
* After the power switch is turned off, the display and navigation module display (HDD navigation system) records various types of memory and settings. As a result, after turning the power switch off, be sure to wait for the time specified in the following table before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.
Waiting Time before Disconnecting Cable from Negative (-) Battery Terminal:
* When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected Repair Instruction - Initialization.
4. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PANEL END LH Removal
5. REMOVE INSTRUMENT SIDE PANEL LH Removal
6. REMOVE NO. 1 INSTRUMENT CLUSTER MOULDING Removal
7. REMOVE NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL UNDER COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY Removal
8. REMOVE NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL SAFETY PAD SUB-ASSEMBLY Removal
9. REMOVE DRIVER SIDE KNEE AIRBAG ASSEMBLY Removal
10. REMOVE ACCELERATION SENSOR ASSEMBLY
(a) Disconnect the sensor connector.
(b) Remove the bolt and acceleration sensor with bracket from the instrument panel reinforcement.
NOTICE:
* Avoid any impact to the acceleration sensor.
* Do not drop the acceleration sensor. If it is dropped, replace it with a new one.
* The acceleration sensor removed from the vehicle must not be placed upside down.
