Security Indicator Light Does Not Blink

DESCRIPTION

* The certification ECU (smart key ECU assembly) blinks the security indicator light when the immobilizer is set (the power switch is off).

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

NOTICE:
* Inspect the fuses for circuits related to this system before performing the following inspection procedure.
* Before replacing the certification ECU (smart key ECU assembly), refer to Registration Engine Immobilizer System.

PROCEDURE

1. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING TECHSTREAM (SECURITY INDICATOR LIGHT)

(a) Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.

(b) Turn the power switch on (IG).

(c) Turn the Techstream on.

(d) Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Smart Access or Main Body / Active Test.

(e) Perform the Active Test according to the display on the Techstream.

2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (SECURITY INDICATOR LIGHT - CERTIFICATION ECU)

(a) Disconnect the H72 indicator light connector.

(b) Disconnect the H1 ECU connector.

(c) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Resistance:





NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

OK -- REPLACE CERTIFICATION ECU (SMART KEY ECU ASSEMBLY) Removal

3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (SECURITY INDICATOR LIGHT - INSTRUMENT PANEL JUNCTION BLOCK)

(a) Disconnect the H72 indicator light connector.

(b) Disconnect the 2A junction block connector.

(c) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Resistance:





NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- Continue to next step.

4. INSPECT INSTRUMENT PANEL JUNCTION BLOCK ASSEMBLY

(a) Remove the main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU) Removal.

(b) Disconnect the 2A junction block connector.

(c) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Resistance:





NG -- REPLACE INSTRUMENT PANEL JUNCTION BLOCK ASSEMBLY Removal

OK -- REPLACE MAIN BODY ECU (MULTIPLEX NETWORK BODY ECU) Removal

5. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR

(a) Disconnect the H72 indicator light connector.

(b) Disconnect the H1 ECU connector.

(c) Disconnect the 2A junction block connector.

(d) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Resistance:





(e) Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Voltage:





NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- Continue to next step.

6. REPLACE SECURITY INDICATOR LIGHT (COMBINATION SWITCH ASSEMBLY)

(a) Temporarily replace the security indicator light (combination switch assembly) with a new or known good one Removal.

(b) When the immobilizer is set (the power switch is off), check that the security indicator light blinks.

OK:

Security indicator light blinks.

NG -- REPLACE CERTIFICATION ECU (SMART KEY ECU ASSEMBLY)

OK -- END (SECURITY INDICATOR LIGHT WAS DEFECTIVE)

7. REPLACE CERTIFICATION ECU (SMART KEY ECU ASSEMBLY)

(a) Temporarily replace the certification ECU (smart key ECU assembly) with a new or known good one Removal.

(b) When the immobilizer is set (the power switch is off), check that the security indicator light blinks.

OK:

Security indicator light blinks.

NG -- REPLACE MAIN BODY ECU (MULTIPLEX NETWORK BODY ECU) Removal

OK -- END (CERTIFICATION ECU (SMART KEY ECU ASSEMBLY) WAS DEFECTIVE)
