DESCRIPTION

The footwell illumination control is controlled by the main body ECU. The operation and condition of this control are described below.





HINT
* Before performing troubleshooting of the footwell illumination control, check that the interior light control of the illuminated entry system is normal.
* When one side footwell illumination does not come on, check the light or wire harness that is related to the light. When both right and left footwell lights do not come on, perform the ACTIVE TEST of the footwell illumination.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

PROCEDURE

1. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING TECHSTREAM

(a) Connect Techstream to the DLC3.

(b) Turn the engine switch on (IG).

(c) Turn Techstream on.

(d) Select the following menu items: Body Electrical / Main Body / Active Test.

(e) Check the operation.

Main Body:





OK:

Footwell lights come on.

OK -- PROCEED TO NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE
NG -- Continue to next step.

2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (MAIN BODY ECU - BATTERY)

(a) Disconnect the E59 main body ECU connector.





(b) Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table.

NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

OK -- REPLACE INSTRUMENT PANEL JUNCTION BLOCK ASSEMBLY
