Removal

SUSPENSION: FRONT ACTIVE STABILIZER CONTROL ACTUATOR: REMOVAL

1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

CAUTION:
Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to prevent airbag and seat belt pretensioner activation.

2. REMOVE FRONT WHEEL

3. REMOVE ENGINE UNDER COVER Removal

4. REMOVE FRONT FENDER WHEEL OPENING MOULDING RH

5. REMOVE FRONT FENDER LINER RH

6. DISCONNECT FRONT ACTIVE STABILIZER CONTROL ACTUATOR ASSEMBLY





(a) Remove the bolt and disconnect the ground wire.

(b) Disconnect the 2 wire harness clamps from the bracket.

(c) Using the procedures below, disconnect the ECU connector.

(1) Release the lever's lock. (*1)

(2) Press the claw and move the lever in the direction of the arrow in the illustration. (*2)

(3) Disconnect the ECU connector. (*3)

NOTICE:
When disconnecting the connector, do not apply excessive force to the wire harness.

7. REMOVE FRONT STABILIZER LINK ASSEMBLY LH





(a) Remove the 2 nuts and link from the stabilizer bar.

8. REMOVE FRONT STABILIZER LINK ASSEMBLY RH

HINT
Use the same procedures described for the LH side.

9. REMOVE REAR ENGINE UNDER COVER LH Removal

10. REMOVE REAR ENGINE UNDER COVER RH Removal

11. REMOVE FRONT NO. 2 STABILIZER BRACKET LH

(a) Remove the EPS wire harness.





Remove the 2 bolts and bracket from the crossmember.

12. REMOVE FRONT NO. 2 STABILIZER BRACKET RH

(a) Remove the 2 bolts, bracket and control actuator.

NOTICE:
The front active stabilizer control actuator is very heavy. Be careful not to drop it.

13. REMOVE FRONT NO. 1 STABILIZER BRACKET LH

(a) Remove the 2 bolts and water with motor and bracket from the front No. 2 stabilizer bracket LH.





(b) Disconnect the skid control sensor wire clamp from the front No. 1 stabilizer bracket LH.





(c) Disconnect the 2 power steering link assembly wire harness clamps.

(d) Remove the 3 bolts and No. 1 ECU bracket.

(e) Remove the 5 bolts and front No. 1 stabilizer bracket LH from the frame.

14. REMOVE FRONT NO. 1 STABILIZER BRACKET RH

(a) Remove the 2 bolts and separate the heater water pump assembly from the front No. 1 stabilizer bracket RH.





(b) Disconnect the engine ground wire clamp, heater water pump assembly wire harness clamp and skid control sensor wire harness clamp from the front No. 1 stabilizer bracket RH.

(c) Remove the 5 bolts and front No. 1 stabilizer bracket RH.

15. REMOVE FRONT NO. 1 STABILIZER BAR BUSH

(a) Remove the 2 bushes from the control actuator.
