B2522 - Roof Close Switch LH Malfunction

DESCRIPTION

The removable roof auxiliary catch assembly LH (roof close switch LH) detects whether the roof panels are closed or not and sends a signal to the sliding roof control ECU assembly.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

NOTICE:
Before starting troubleshooting, check that there are no mechanical problems.

PROCEDURE

1. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (ROOF CLOSE SW/LH)

(a) Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.

(b) Turn the engine switch on (IG).

(c) Turn the Techstream on.

(d) Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Retractable Hardtop / Data List.

(e) Read the Data List according to the display on the Techstream.

Retractable Hardtop (Sliding Roof Control ECU Assembly)





OK:

The Techstream display changes according to condition as shown in the table.

NG -- INSPECT REMOVABLE ROOF AUXILIARY CATCH ASSEMBLY LH

OK -- REPLACE SLIDING ROOF CONTROL ECU ASSEMBLY

2. INSPECT REMOVABLE ROOF AUXILIARY CATCH ASSEMBLY LH

(a) Check that the wire harness of the roof close switch LH has not been pinched by the body.

(b) Disconnect the R10 connector.

(c) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Resistance:





NG -- REPLACE REMOVABLE ROOF AUXILIARY CATCH ASSEMBLY LH
OK -- Continue to next step.

3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (REMOVABLE ROOF AUXILIARY CATCH LH - SLIDING ROOF CONTROL ECU)

(a) Disconnect the R10 and Q36 connectors.





(b) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Resistance:

NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- Continue to next step.

4. INSPECT REMOVABLE ROOF AUXILIARY CATCH ASSEMBLY LH

(a) Disconnect the R10 connector.

(b) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

NOTICE:
Manually move the roof to the position in the table below Procedures.

Standard Resistance:





NG -- REPLACE REMOVABLE ROOF AUXILIARY CATCH ASSEMBLY LH

OK -- REPLACE SLIDING ROOF CONTROL ECU ASSEMBLY

5. REPLACE REMOVABLE ROOF AUXILIARY CATCH ASSEMBLY LH

(a) Replace the removable roof auxiliary catch assembly LH.

NEXT -- Continue to next step.

6. INSPECT REMOVABLE ROOF AUXILIARY CATCH ASSEMBLY LH

(a) Disconnect the R10 connector.
