B256A - Lock in Back Window Panel Lock Motor Circuit

DESCRIPTION

The sliding roof drive gear sub-assembly (roof rear lock motor) locks/unlocks the roof lock when the back window panel is fully closed.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

NOTICE:
* Since this malfunction may be detected due to the protection circuit operation in the motor, check that the motor has cooled down sufficiently before performing DTC check again.
* These DTCs are stored when the protection circuit in the motor operates due to a mechanical malfunction during metal top system operation.
* Before starting troubleshooting, perform the switch inspection for DTC B253B.

PROCEDURE

1. INSPECT SLIDING ROOF DRIVE GEAR SUB-ASSEMBLY (ROOF REAR LOCK MOTOR)

(a) Remove the sliding roof drive gear sub-assembly (roof rear lock motor).





(b) Apply battery voltage and check operation of the roof rear lock motor.

OK:





(c) Connect an electrical tester DC 400 A probe to the wire harness of the motor.

NOTICE:
Match the arrow mark of the probe with the direction of the current flow.

(d) Measure the current according to the value(s) in the table below.

NOTICE:
Make sure to perform the inspection after the motor cools down sufficiently. Otherwise the result may not meet the specified condition due to protection circuit operation in the motor.

OK -- Continue to next step.

2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (SLIDING ROOF DRIVE GEAR - SLIDING ROOF CONTROL ECU)

(a) Disconnect the f1 and Q34 connectors.





(b) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
