Wireless Transmitter Memory Function Does Not Operate

DESCRIPTION

With the engine switch off and the driver door closed, press the manual lock or unlock switch while holding a seat memory switch (M1 switch, M2 switch or M3 switch). Doing so will register the transmitter recognition code into the seat memory switch that was pressed. After the registration is completed, the buzzer sounds.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

NOTICE:
* The seat position will not be recorded if the SET switch and 2 or more of the seat memory switches (for example, M1 switch and M2 switch) are pressed simultaneously.
* If a memorizing operation has failed, release all switches. The seat memory function does not operate unless the switches are released.
* After replacing the position control ECU and switch assembly, register the end-point positions of the reclining motor.
* After replacing the front seat adjuster assembly, clear the seat positions stored in the position control ECU and switch assembly, and then register the end-point positions of the reclining motor, lifter motor and slide motor.
* Refer to the Operation Check Operation Check.

PROCEDURE

1. CHECK MULTIPLEX COMMUNICATION SYSTEM

(a) Use the Techstream to check if the multiplex communication system is functioning normally How to Proceed With Troubleshooting.

OK:

Multiplex communication DTC is not output.

NG -- GO TO MULTIPLEX COMMUNICATION SYSTEM (DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART) Multiplex Communication System
OK -- Continue to next step.

2. CHECK POWER DOOR LOCK CONTROL FUNCTION

(a) Using the standard operation procedure, check that the power door lock/unlock function operates normally Operation Check.

OK:

Power door lock/unlock function operates normally.

NG -- GO TO POWER DOOR LOCK CONTROL SYSTEM (PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE) Problem Symptoms Table
OK -- Continue to next step.

3. CHECK SMART ACCESS SYSTEM WITH PUSH-BUTTON START (ENTRY UNLOCK FUNCTION)

(a) Check the entry unlock function of the smart access system with push-button start Operation Check.

OK:

Entry unlock function is normally.

NG -- GO TO SMART ACCESS SYSTEM WITH PUSH-BUTTON START (PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE) Problem Symptoms Table
OK -- Continue to next step.

4. CHECK WIRELESS DOOR UNLOCK FUNCTION

(a) Check the entry unlock function of the smart access system with push-button start Operation Check.

NG -- GO TO WIRELESS DOOR LOCK CONTROL SYSTEM (PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE) Problem Symptoms Table
OK -- Continue to next step.

5. CHECK SEAT MEMORY FUNCTION

(a) Perform a seat memory operation properly Operation Check.

(b) Check that the buzzer sounds for 0.5 seconds to indicate the completion of the memory operation.

NOTICE:
* The seat position will not be recorded if the SET switch and 2 or more of the seat memory switches (for example, M1 switch and M2 switch) are pressed simultaneously.
* If a memorizing operation has failed, release all switches. The seat memory function does not operate unless the switches are released.

OK:

Seat position memory function operates normally.

NG -- GO TO OTHER FLOW CHART (Power Seat Position is not Memorized) Power Seat Position Is Not Memorized
OK -- Continue to next step.

6. CHECK SEAT RESTORING FUNCTION (SEAT POSITION RESTORING FUNCTION)

(a) Perform a seat restoring operation properly Operation Check.

(b) Check that the buzzer sounds for 0.1 seconds and the seat automatically moves to the memorized position.

NOTICE:
* The seat position will not return to the memorized position if the 2 or more of the seat memory switches (for example, M1 switch and M2 switch) are pressed simultaneously.
* If a restoring operation has failed, release all switches. The seat memory restoring function does not operate unless the switches are released.

OK:

Seat position restoring function operates normally.

NG -- GO TO OTHER FLOW CHART (Power Seat does not Return to Memorized Position) Power Seat Does Not Return To Memorized Position
OK -- Continue to next step.

7. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM

(a) Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.

(b) Turn the engine switch on (IG).

(c) Turn the Techstream on.

(d) Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Main Body / Data List.

(e) Read the Data List according to the display on the Techstream.

OK:

ON or OFF appears on the Techstream.

NG -- GO TO LIGHTING SYSTEM (Door Courtesy Light Circuit) Door Courtesy Switch Circuit
OK -- Continue to next step.

8. REPLACE POSITION CONTROL ECU AND SWITCH ASSEMBLY

(a) Replace the position control ECU and switch assembly Removal.

NEXT -- Continue to next step.

9. CHECK MEMORY CALL FUNCTION

(a) While pressing M1 switch, M2 switch or M3 switch , press the manual lock or unlock switch.

(b) Check that the buzzer sounds normally Operation Check.

OK:

Buzzer sounds normally.

NG -- REPLACE CERTIFICATION ECU (SMART KEY ECU ASSEMBLY) Removal

OK -- END (POSITION CONTROL ECU AND SWITCH ASSEMBLY WAS DEFECTIVE)
