B2289 - Key Collation Waiting Time Over
DESCRIPTION
This DTC is stored when there is a LIN communication problem between the power source control ECU and certification ECU (smart key ECU assembly) or when there is a problem in the engine immobilizer system.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE
PROCEDURE
1. CHECK FOR DTC
(a) Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
(b) Turn the engine switch on (IG).
(c) Check for DTCs.
Result:
C -- GO TO ENGINE IMMOBILIZER SYSTEM Engine Immobilizer System
B -- GO TO OTHER FLOWCHART (DTC B2287) B2287
A -- Continue to next step.
2. CHECK SMART ACCESS SYSTEM WITH PUSH-BUTTON START
(a) Remove the battery of the electrical key transmitter Service and Repair.
(b) Touch the logo side mark of the key to the engine switch.
(c) Check that the engine switch can be turned on (IG).
OK:
Power source mode is turned on.
NG -- GO TO SMART ACCESS SYSTEM WITH PUSH-BUTTON START (ROOM OSCILLATOR DOES NOT RECOGNIZE KEY) Symptom Related Diagnostic Procedures
OK -- Continue to next step.
3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (POWER SOURCE CONTROL ECU - CERTIFICATION ECU)
(a) Disconnect the J55 connector from the power source control ECU.
(b) Disconnect the P33 connector from the certification ECU (smart key ECU assembly).
(c) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard Resistance:

NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR (POWER SOURCE CONTROL ECU - CERTIFICATION ECU)
OK -- Continue to next step.
4. REPLACE POWER SOURCE CONTROL ECU
(a) Replace the power source control ECU Removal.
NEXT -- Continue to next step.
5. CHECK FOR DTC
(a) Clear the DTC Smart Access System With Push-Button Start (for Start Function).
(b) Check for DTC B2289 (key Collation Waiting Time Over).
Result:
B -- REPLACE CERTIFICATION ECU (SMART KEY ECU ASSEMBLY) Removal
A -- END (POWER SOURCE CONTROL ECU WAS DEFECTIVE)
