B252A - Back Window Panel Close Switch Abnormal Operation

DESCRIPTION

The back window panel close switch detects whether the back window panel are closed or not and sends a signal to the sliding roof control ECU assembly.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

NOTICE:
Before starting troubleshooting, check that there are no mechanical problems.

PROCEDURE

1. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (BACK WINDOW PANEL CLOSE SW)

(a) Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.

(b) Turn the engine switch on (IG).

(c) Turn the Techstream on.

(d) Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Retractable Hardtop / Data List.

(e) Read the Data List according to the display on the Techstream.

Retractable Hardtop (Sliding Roof Control ECU Assembly)





OK:

The Techstream display changes according to condition as shown in the table.

NG -- INSPECT BACK WINDOW LOCK ASSEMBLY (BACK WINDOW PANEL CLOSE SWITCH)

OK -- REPLACE SLIDING ROOF CONTROL ECU ASSEMBLY

2. INSPECT BACK WINDOW LOCK ASSEMBLY (BACK WINDOW PANEL CLOSE SWITCH)

(a) Check that the wire harness of the back window panel close switch has not been pinched by the body.

(b) Disconnect the f2 connector.

(c) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Resistance:





NG -- REPLACE BACK WINDOW LOCK ASSEMBLY (BACK WINDOW PANEL CLOSE SWITCH)
OK -- Continue to next step.

3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (BACK WINDOW LOCK ASSEMBLY - SLIDING ROOF CONTROL ECU)

(a) Disconnect the f2 and Q36 connectors.





(b) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Resistance:

NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- Continue to next step.

4. INSPECT BACK WINDOW LOCK ASSEMBLY

(a) Disconnect the f2 connector.

(b) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

NOTICE:
Manually move the roof to the position in the table below Procedures.

Standard Resistance:





NG -- REPLACE REMOVABLE ROOF PANEL STOPPER LH

OK -- REPLACE SLIDING ROOF CONTROL ECU ASSEMBLY

5. REPLACE REMOVABLE ROOF PANEL STOPPER LH

(a) Replace the removable roof panel stopper LH.

NEXT -- Continue to next step.

6. INSPECT BACK WINDOW LOCK ASSEMBLY

(a) Disconnect the f2 connector.
