DESCRIPTION

The courtesy switch that is part of the luggage door closer assembly detects whether the luggage door is closed and sends a signal to the sliding roof control ECU assembly. The sliding roof control ECU assembly determines the permission condition and permits or prohibits metal top operation according to the signal from the courtesy switch that is part of the luggage door closer assembly and luggage courtesy switch information received via BEAN communication.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

NOTICE:
Before starting troubleshooting, check that there are no mechanical problems.

PROCEDURE

1. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (RH CLOSER COURTESY SW, LH CLOSER COURTESY SW)

(a) Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.

(b) Turn the engine switch on (IG).

(c) Turn the Techstream on.

(d) Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Retractable Hardtop / Data List.

(e) Read the Data List according to the display on the Techstream.

Retractable Hardtop (Sliding Roof Control ECU Assembly)





OK:

The Techstream display changes according to condition as shown in the table.

OK -- REPLACE SLIDING ROOF CONTROL ECU ASSEMBLY

2. INSPECT LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT DOOR HINGE ASSEMBLY RH (COURTESY SWITCH RH)

(a) Remove the luggage door closer assembly RH.





(b) Apply battery voltage to the motor connector and measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Resistance:

3. INSPECT LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT DOOR HINGE ASSEMBLY LH (COURTESY SWITCH LH)

(a) Remove the luggage door closer assembly LH.





(b) Apply battery voltage to the motor connector and measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT DOOR HINGE - SLIDING ROOF CONTROL ECU)

(a) Disconnect the P58, P59, Q42, Q43, P53 and Q36 connectors.

(b) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Resistance:





NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- Continue to next step.

5. CHECK LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT DOOR HINGE ASSEMBLY RH (HARNESS AND CONNECTOR)

(a) Disconnect the P58, P59 and A connectors.





(b) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

(a) Disconnect the Q42, Q43 and C connectors.





(b) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
