B2539 - Abnormal Roof Drive Motor LH Pulse
DESCRIPTION
The sliding roof control ECU assembly controls the speed of the roof panels using pulse signals that are generated by the rotation of the sliding roof drive gear assembly LH (roof motor LH).

INSPECTION PROCEDURE
NOTICE:
Before starting troubleshooting, check that there are no mechanical problems.
PROCEDURE
1. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (ROOF PULSE/LH VALUE)
(a) Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
(b) Turn the engine switch on (IG).
(c) Turn the Techstream on.
(d) Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Retractable Hardtop / Data List.
(e) Read the Data List according to the display on the Techstream.
Retractable Hardtop (Sliding Roof Control ECU Assembly)
OK:
The Techstream display changes according to condition as shown in the table.
NG -- CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (SLIDING ROOF DRIVE GEAR LH - SLIDING ROOF CONTROL ECU)
OK -- REPLACE SLIDING ROOF CONTROL ECU ASSEMBLY
2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (SLIDING ROOF DRIVE GEAR LH - SLIDING ROOF CONTROL ECU)
(a) Disconnect the Q40 and Q35 connectors.
(b) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard Resistance:

NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- Continue to next step.
3. INSPECT SLIDING ROOF DRIVE GEAR ASSEMBLY LH (ROOF MOTOR LH)
(a) Disconnect the Q40 connector.
(b) Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard Voltage:

NG -- REPLACE SLIDING ROOF DRIVE GEAR ASSEMBLY LH (ROOF MOTOR LH)
OK -- Continue to next step.
4. CHECK SLIDING ROOF CONTROL ECU ASSEMBLY
(a) Reconnect the Q35 connector.
(b) Disconnect the Q40 connector.
(c) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard Resistance:
