B253F - Side Package Tray Switch RH Abnormal Operation

DESCRIPTION

The No. 1 package tray trim hinge (No. 1 side package tray RH switch and No. 2 side package tray RH switch) detects that the side package tray RH position. The switch sends a signal to the sliding roof control ECU assembly.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

NOTICE:
Before starting troubleshooting, check that there are no mechanical problems.

PROCEDURE

1. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (RH SIDE PAC TRAY SW NO. 1, RH SIDE PAC TRAY SW NO. 2)

(a) Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.

(b) Turn the engine switch on (IG).

(c) Turn the Techstream on.

(d) Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Retractable Hardtop / Data List.

(e) Read the Data List according to the display on the Techstream.

2. INSPECT NO. 1 PACKAGE TRAY TRIM HINGE

(a) Disconnect the h9 connector.

(b) Remove the slide roof motor assembly (side package tray motor).

(c) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Resistance:





NG -- REPLACE NO. 1 PACKAGE TRAY TRIM HINGE
OK -- Continue to next step.

3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (NO. 1 PACKAGE TRAY TRIM HINGE - SLIDING ROOF CONTROL ECU)

(a) Disconnect the h9 and Q36 connectors.





(b) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Resistance:

4. INSPECT NO. 1 PACKAGE TRAY TRIM HINGE

(a) Disconnect the h9 connector.

(c) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Resistance:





NG -- REPLACE NO. 1 PACKAGE TRAY TRIM HINGE

(a) Disconnect the h9 and Q36 connectors.
