B2543 - Abnormal Difference between RH and LH Luggage Door Drive Motor Pulse

DESCRIPTION

The sliding roof control ECU assembly controls the speed of the roof panels using pulse signals that are generated by the rotation of the luggage door drive gear assembly RH (luggage motor RH) and luggage door drive gear assembly LH (luggage motor LH).

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

NOTICE:
Before starting troubleshooting, check that there are no mechanical problems.

PROCEDURE

1. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (LUGGAGE PULSE/RH VALUE, LUGGAGE PULSE/LH VALUE)

(a) Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.

(b) Turn the engine switch on (IG).

(c) Turn the Techstream on.

(d) Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Retractable Hardtop / Data List.

(e) Read the Data List according to the display on the Techstream.

Retractable Hardtop (Sliding Roof Control ECU Assembly)





OK:

The Techstream display changes according to condition as shown in the table.

NG -- CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT DOOR HINGE RH - SLIDING ROOF CONTROL ECU)

OK -- REPLACE SLIDING ROOF CONTROL ECU ASSEMBLY

2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT DOOR HINGE RH - SLIDING ROOF CONTROL ECU)

(a) Disconnect the P59 and P53 connectors.





(b) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Resistance:

OK -- Continue to next step.

3. CHECK LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT DOOR HINGE ASSEMBLY RH (HARNESS AND CONNECTOR)

(a) Disconnect the P59 and A connectors.





(b) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT DOOR HINGE LH - SLIDING ROOF CONTROL ECU)

(a) Disconnect the Q43 and Q35 connectors.





(b) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

5. CHECK LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT DOOR HINGE ASSEMBLY LH (HARNESS AND CONNECTOR)

(b) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
