DESCRIPTION

The sliding roof control ECU assembly receives shift position and engine speed signals via CAN communication from the ECM and changes the control constant and operation permission condition of the metal top system.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

NOTICE:
The retractable hardtop system uses a multiplex communication system. Inspect the communication function by following How to Proceed with Troubleshooting How To Proceed With Troubleshooting. Troubleshoot the retractable hardtop system after confirming that the communication system is functioning properly.

PROCEDURE

1. REPLACE ECM

(a) Replace the ECM.

NEXT -- Continue to next step.

2. CLEAR DTC

(a) Clear the DTC Reading and Clearing Diagnostic Trouble Codes.

NEXT -- Continue to next step.

3. CHECK FOR DTC

(a) Recheck for DTCs Reading and Clearing Diagnostic Trouble Codes.

OK:

DTC B2545 is not output.

NG -- REPLACE NETWORK GATEWAY ECU

OK -- END (ECM WAS DEFECTIVE)

4. REPLACE NETWORK GATEWAY ECU

(a) Replace the network gateway ECU.

NEXT -- Continue to next step.

5. CLEAR DTC

(a) Clear the DTC Reading and Clearing Diagnostic Trouble Codes.

NEXT -- Continue to next step.

6. CHECK FOR DTC

(a) Recheck for DTCs Reading and Clearing Diagnostic Trouble Codes.

OK:

DTC B2545 is not output.

NG -- REPLACE SLIDING ROOF CONTROL ECU ASSEMBLY

OK -- END (NETWORK GATEWAY ECU WAS DEFECTIVE)
