DESCRIPTION

The sliding roof control ECU assembly receives outside temperature signal via BEAN communication from the air conditioning amplifier assembly and changes operation permission condition of the metal top system.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

NOTICE:
The retractable hardtop system uses a multiplex communication system. Inspect the communication function by following How to Proceed with Troubleshooting How To Proceed With Troubleshooting. Troubleshoot the retractable hardtop system after confirming that the communication system is functioning properly.

PROCEDURE

1. REPLACE AIR CONDITIONING AMPLIFIER ASSEMBLY

(a) Replace the air conditioning amplifier assembly.

NEXT -- Continue to next step.

2. CLEAR DTC

(a) Clear the DTC Reading and Clearing Diagnostic Trouble Codes.

NEXT -- Continue to next step.

3. CHECK FOR DTC

(a) Recheck for DTCs Reading and Clearing Diagnostic Trouble Codes.

OK:

DTC B2555 is not output.

NG -- REPLACE SLIDING ROOF CONTROL ECU ASSEMBLY

OK -- END (AIR CONDITIONING AMPLIFIER ASSEMBLY WAS DEFECTIVE)
