DESCRIPTION

The sliding roof control ECU assembly receives information about obstacles around the vehicle from the clearance warning ECU assembly (clearance sonar ECU) via BEAN communication. The sliding roof control ECU assembly changes the operation permission status of the metal top system based on this information.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

NOTICE:
The retractable hardtop system uses a multiplex communication system. Inspect the communication function by following How to Proceed with Troubleshooting How To Proceed With Troubleshooting. Troubleshoot the retractable hardtop system after confirming that the communication system is functioning properly.

PROCEDURE

1. REPLACE CLEARANCE WARNING ECU ASSEMBLY

(a) Replace the clearance warning ECU assembly.

NEXT -- Continue to next step.

2. CLEAR DTC

(a) Clear the DTC Reading and Clearing Diagnostic Trouble Codes.

NEXT -- Continue to next step.

3. CHECK DTC OUTPUT

(a) Recheck for DTCs Reading and Clearing Diagnostic Trouble Codes.

OK:

DTC B255A is not output.

NG -- REPLACE SLIDING ROOF CONTROL ECU ASSEMBLY

OK -- END (CLEARANCE WARNING ECU ASSEMBLY WAS DEFECTIVE)
