B2563 - Motor Lock in Package Tray Motor Circuit

DESCRIPTION

The sliding roof control ECU assembly operates the roof panels, luggage door, back window panel and package trays in the specified order while the sliding roof switch assembly is operated. The package tray trim bracket (main package tray motor) operates the main package tray.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

NOTICE:
* Before starting troubleshooting, perform the switch inspection for DTC B2532,B253C.
* The package tray trim bracket (main package tray motor) does not move smoothly (it is sticking or binding).

PROCEDURE

1. INSPECT PACKAGE TRAY TRIM BRACKET (MAIN PACKAGE TRAY MOTOR)

(a) Remove the package tray trim bracket.

(b) Apply battery voltage and check operation of the package tray trim bracket.

OK:





(c) Connect an electrical tester DC 400 A probe to the wire harness of the motor.

NOTICE:
Match the arrow mark of the probe with the direction of the current flow.

(d) Measure the current according to the value(s) in the table below.

NOTICE:
* Make sure to perform the inspection after the motor cools down sufficiently. Otherwise the result may not meet the specified condition due to protection circuit operation in the motor.
* Disconnect the battery immediately after the main package tray stops.

Standard Current:





NG -- REPLACE PACKAGE TRAY TRIM BRACKET (MAIN PACKAGE TRAY MOTOR)
OK -- Continue to next step.

2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (PACKAGE TRAY TRIM BRACKET - SLIDING ROOF CONTROL ECU)

(a) Disconnect the P60 and P55 connectors.





(b) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Resistance:

NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

OK -- REPLACE SLIDING ROOF CONTROL ECU ASSEMBLY
