B2569 - Lock in Back Window Panel Drive Motor LH Circuit

DESCRIPTION

The sliding roof control ECU assembly operates the roof panels, luggage door, back window panel and package trays in the specified order while the sliding roof switch assembly is operated. The sliding roof drive gear assembly (back window motor RH/LH) operates the back window panel.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

NOTICE:
This DTC is also stored when the back window lock assembly (back window close switch), slide roof motor assembly (back window open switch) or slide roof motor assembly (back window half open switch) is malfunctioning. Therefore when manual operation Procedures of the back window panel is possible (the back window panel is not stuck), perform the inspection procedures for DTCs B252A, B252B and B252C.

PROCEDURE

1. INSPECT SLIDING ROOF DRIVE GEAR ASSEMBLY (BACK WINDOW MOTOR LH)

(a) Remove the sliding roof drive gear assembly (back window motor LH).





(b) Apply battery voltage and check operation of the back window motor.

OK:





(c) Connect an electrical tester DC 400 A probe to the wire harness of the motor.

NOTICE:
Match the arrow mark of the probe with the direction of the current flow.

(d) Measure the current according to the value(s) in the table below.

NOTICE:
Make sure to perform the inspection after the motor cools down sufficiently. Otherwise the result may not meet the specified condition due to protection circuit operation in the motor.

2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (SLIDE ROOF MOTOR ASSEMBLY - SLIDING ROOF CONTROL ECU)

(a) Disconnect the Q41 and Q35 connectors.





(b) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Resistance:

NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- Continue to next step.

3. CHECK SLIDE ROOF MOTOR ASSEMBLY (CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR)

(a) Disconnect the Q41 and Q35 connectors.





(b) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Resistance:
