B2790 - ID BOX EEPROM Malfunction

DESCRIPTION

This DTC is stored when the ID code box (immobilizer code ECU) detects an internal malfunction.





INSPECTION PROCEDURE

NOTICE:
* If the ID code box (immobilizer code ECU) is replaced, register the ECU code and ECU communication ID Engine Immobilizer System.
* If the certification ECU (smart key ECU assembly) is replaced, register all the keys Engine Immobilizer System.

PROCEDURE

1. REPLACE ID CODE BOX (IMMOBILIZER CODE ECU)

(a) Replace the ID code box (immobilizer code ECU) Removal.

NEXT -- Continue to next step.

2. ECU CODE REGISTRATION

(a) Register the ECU code Engine Immobilizer System.

NEXT -- Continue to next step.

3. ECU COMMUNICATION ID REGISTRATION

(a) Register the ECU communication ID Engine Immobilizer System.

NEXT -- Continue to next step.

4. CHECK DTC OUTPUT

(a) Clear the DTCs Engine Immobilizer System.

(b) Recheck for DTCs Engine Immobilizer System.

OK:

DTC B2790 is not output.

NG -- REPLACE CERTIFICATION ECU (SMART KEY ECU ASSEMBLY) Removal

OK -- END (ID CODE BOX (IMMOBILIZER CODE ECU) WAS DEFECTIVE)
