C1201 - Engine Control System Malfunction

DESCRIPTION

If a malfunction in the engine control system is detected, the operation of VSC and TR(A)C is prohibited by the fail-safe function. When the signals from the engine are input normally, the fail-safe control is cleared and the DTC is not stored.

1. CHECK ENGINE CONTROL SYSTEM

(a) Check if any engine control system DTC is output Reading and Clearing Diagnostic Trouble Codes for 2GR-FSE, or Reading and Clearing Diagnostic Trouble Codes for 4GR-FSE).

D -- INSPECT ENGINE CONTROL SYSTEM (for 4GR-FSE) SFI System

C -- INSPECT ENGINE CONTROL SYSTEM (for 2GR-FSE) SFI System

B -- REPLACE ECM (for 4GR-FSE) Removal

A -- REPLACE ECM (for 2GR-FSE) Removal
