P1578 - Brake System Malfunction

DESCRIPTION

This DTC is output when the vehicle stability control system has a problem. Check the vehicle stability control system when this DTC is output.





WIRING DIAGRAM

Refer to DTC P1575 P1575.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

This DTC may be output by the vehicle stability control system at the same time. In that case, perform troubleshooting for the vehicle stability control system first.

NOTICE:
When the ECM is replaced with a new one, initialization must be performed Installation.

PROCEDURE

1. READ OUTPUT DTC (VEHICLE STABILITY CONTROL SYSTEM)

(a) Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.

(b) Turn the engine switch on (IG).

(c) Turn the Techstream on.

(d) Enter the following menus: Chassis / ABS/VSC/TRAC / Trouble Codes.

(e) Read the DTCs Reading and Clearing Diagnostic Trouble Codes.

B -- GO TO VEHICLE STABILITY CONTROL SYSTEM (DTC CHART) Vehicle Stability Control System
A -- Continue to next step.

2. CHECK WHETHER DTC OUTPUT RECURS (DTC P1578)

(a) Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.

(b) Turn the engine switch on (IG).

(c) Turn the Techstream on.

(d) Clear the DTCs Dynamic Radar Cruise Control System.

(e) Perform the following to make sure that the DTC detection conditions are met.

HINT
If the detection conditions are not met, the malfunction cannot be detected.

(1) Drive the vehicle at a speed of 50 km/h (30 mph) or more.

(2) Turn the cruise control main switch on.

(3) Push the cruise control main switch to -SET to activate the cruise control.

(f) Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Radar Cruise / Trouble Codes.

(g) Read the DTCs Dynamic Radar Cruise Control System.

C -- REPLACE ECM (for 4GR-FSE) Removal

B -- REPLACE ECM (for 2GR-FSE) Removal
