P1616
CRUISE CONTROL: DYNAMIC RADAR CRUISE CONTROL SYSTEM: P1616: Communication Error from ECM to Distance Control ECU
P1616 - Communication Error from ECM to Distance Control ECU
DESCRIPTION
The ECM receives signals from each sensor and ECU, then sends signals such as cruise control operation signals, low speed operation signals, brake control operation signals, and radar light emission prohibiting signals to the distance control ECU. The ECM is the only component that has a function to record and output the DTCs in the dynamic radar cruise control system. Therefore, if the distance control ECU detects a communication error from the ECM, it sends a malfunction signal back to the ECM.
WIRING DIAGRAM
Refer to DTC P1615 P1615.
INSPECTION PROCEDURE
NOTICE:
When the distance control ECU or ECM is replaced with a new one, initialization must be performed Installation.
PROCEDURE
1. READ OUTPUT DTC (P1616)
(a) Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
(b) Turn the engine switch on (IG).
(c) Turn the Techstream on.
(d) Clear the DTCs Dynamic Radar Cruise Control System.
(e) Perform the following to make sure that the DTC detection conditions are met.
HINT
If the detection conditions are not met, the malfunction cannot be detected.
(1) Drive the vehicle at a speed of 50 km/h (30 mph) or more.
(2) Turn the cruise control main switch on.
(f) Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Radar Cruise / Trouble Codes.
(g) Read the DTCs Dynamic Radar Cruise Control System.
Result:
B -- REPLACE ECM
A -- USE SIMULATION METHOD TO CHECK Electronic Circuit Inspection Procedure
2. REPLACE ECM
(a) Replace the ECM Removalfor 2GR-FSE, Removal for 4GR-FSE).
NEXT -- Continue to next step.
3. CHECK WHETHER DTC OUTPUT RECURS (DTC P1616)
