DESCRIPTION

The main body ECU RH receives information on the front interior light switch (marked ON/OFF).

The main body ECU LH receives information on the front interior light switch (marked DOOR).

According to the position of each switch, the main body ECU RH controls the interior lights, and the main body ECU LH controls the illuminated entry system.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

PROCEDURE

1. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM

(a) Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.

(b) Turn the engine switch on (IG).

(c) Turn the Techstream on.

(d) Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / (desired system) / Data List.

(e) Read the display on the Techstream.

Switch condition can be displayed.

B -- INSPECT OVERHEAD JUNCTION BLOCK

D -- PROCEED TO NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE Interior Lighting System

2. INSPECT OVERHEAD JUNCTION BLOCK

(a) Remove the overhead junction block.





(b) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table.

Standard Resistance:





NG -- REPLACE OVERHEAD JUNCTION BLOCK Components
OK -- Continue to next step.

3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (OVERHEAD JUNCTION BLOCK - MAIN BODY ECU RH)

(a) Disconnect the R5 overhead junction block connector.





(b) Disconnect the J75 main body ECU RH connector.

(c) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table.

Standard Resistance:





NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

OK -- REPLACE MAIN BODY ECU RH (COWL SIDE JUNCTION BLOCK RH)

4. INSPECT OVERHEAD JUNCTION BLOCK

(a) Remove the overhead junction block.





(b) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table.

Standard Resistance:





NG -- REPLACE OVERHEAD JUNCTION BLOCK Components
OK -- Continue to next step.

5. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (OVERHEAD JUNCTION BLOCK - MAIN BODY ECU LH)

(a) Disconnect the R5 overhead junction block connector.





(b) Disconnect the Q3 main body ECU LH connector.

(c) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table.

Standard Resistance:





NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

OK -- REPLACE MAIN BODY ECU LH (COWL SIDE JUNCTION BLOCK LH)

6. INSPECT OVERHEAD JUNCTION BLOCK

(a) Remove the overhead junction block.





(b) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table.

Standard Resistance:





NG -- REPLACE OVERHEAD JUNCTION BLOCK Components

OK -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR (OVERHEAD JUNCTION BLOCK GROUND CIRCUIT)
