Hydraulic Test

AA80E AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION / TRANSAXLE: AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION SYSTEM: HYDRAULIC TEST

1. MEASURE LINE PRESSURE

CAUTION:
The line pressure test should always be carried out with at least 2 people. One person should observe the condition of wheels and wheel chocks while the other is performing the test.

NOTICE:
* Perform a test at the normal operating ATF (Automatic Transmission Fluid) temperature: 60 to 110°C (140 to 230°F)
* Be careful to prevent the SST hose from interfering with the exhaust pipe.
* This check must be conducted after checking and confirming that the engine is normal.
* Perform the test with the A/C off.
* Do not perform the stall test for longer than 5 seconds.

(a) Warm up the ATF.

(b) Remove the test plug on the transmission case center right side and connect SST.

(c) Fully apply the parking brake and chock the 4 wheels.

(d) Start the engine and check the idle speed.

(e) Keep your left foot firmly on the brake pedal and move the shift lever to D.

(f) Measure the line pressure when the engine is idling.

(g) Depress the accelerator pedal as much as possible with your right foot. Quickly read the highest line pressure reading when the engine speed reaches stall speed.

(h) Measure the line pressure again with the shift lever in R.
