2UR-FSE EXHAUST: EXHAUST PIPE: INSTALLATION

CAUTION:
Perform the procedures below with at least 2 people.

HINT
When viewed from the rear of the engine assembly, Bank 1 is on the left side and Bank 2 is on the right side.

1. INSTALL NO. 1 EXHAUST PIPE SUPPORT BRACKET SUB-ASSEMBLY

(a) Install the bracket with the 2 bolts.

Torque : 43 Nm (438 kgf-cm, 32 ft-lbf)

2. INSTALL EXHAUST PIPE DAMPER

(a) Install the exhaust pipe damper to the tailpipe LH with 2 new bolts.

Torque : 19 Nm (194 kgf-cm, 14 ft-lbf)

NOTICE:
Do not reuse the 2 removed bolts.

(b) Install the exhaust pipe damper to the tailpipe RH with 2 new bolts.

Torque : 19 Nm (194 kgf-cm, 14 ft-lbf)

NOTICE:
Do not reuse the 2 removed bolts.

3. INSTALL TAILPIPE RH

(a) Connect the 3 exhaust pipe supports to install the tailpipe.

NOTICE:
Be sure to install the pipe support as shown in the illustration.

4. INSTALL TAILPIPE LH

(a) Connect the 3 exhaust pipe supports to install the tailpipe.

NOTICE:
Be sure to install the pipe support as shown in the illustration.

5. INSTALL HEATED OXYGEN SENSOR (for Bank 1 Sensor 2)

NOTICE:
Do not strike the metal part of the sensor.

(a) Install the sensor to the exhaust pipe by hand.

(b) Using SST, tighten the sensor.

SST : 09224-00010

with SST - Torque : 40 Nm (408 kgf-cm, 30 ft-lbf)

without SST - Torque : 44 Nm (449 kgf-cm, 32 ft-lbf)

HINT
* Use a torque wrench with a fulcrum length of 300 mm (11.8 in.).
* Make sure SST and the torque wrench are connected in a straight line.

6. INSTALL FRONT EXHAUST PIPE ASSEMBLY

(a) Install 2 new gaskets to the exhaust manifold LH and RH.

(b) Install 2 new gaskets to the exhaust pipe rear ends.

Torque : 39 Nm (398 kgf-cm, 29 ft-lbf)

HINT
During installation, hold the front exhaust pipe.

(d) Install the front exhaust pipe to the tailpipe LH and RH side with the 4 bolts.

Torque : 39 Nm (398 kgf-cm, 29 ft-lbf)

HINT
During installation, hold the front exhaust pipe.

(e) Connect the sensor connector.

7. INSTALL EXHAUST GAS TEMPERATURE SENSOR

(a) Install the exhaust gas temperature sensor Installation.

8. CONNECT EXHAUST PIPE AIR HOSE

9. CONNECT NO. 2 HEATED OXYGEN SENSOR (for Bank 2 Sensor 2)

NOTICE:
Do not strike the metal part of the sensor.

(a) Rotate the sensor counterclockwise the same number of times as recorded in the removal procedure, and install it to the front exhaust pipe by hand.

NOTICE:
After rotating the sensor to the left the same number of times as the removal procedure, install it while making sure that the wire harness is not twisted.

(b) Using SST, tighten the sensor.

SST : 09224-00010

with SST - Torque : 40 Nm (408 kgf-cm, 30 ft-lbf)

without SST - Torque : 44 Nm (449 kgf-cm, 32 ft-lbf)

HINT
* Use a torque wrench with a fulcrum length of 300 mm (11.8 in.).
* Make sure SST and the torque wrench are connected in a straight line.

(c) Connect the grommet to the floor panel.

10. INSPECT FOR EXHAUST GAS LEAK

If gas is leaking, tighten the areas necessary to stop the leak. Replace the damaged parts as necessary.

11. INSTALL FRONT CENTER FLOOR BRACE

(a) Install the brace with the 4 bolts.

Torque : 7.4 Nm (75 kgf-cm, 65 in-lbf)

12. INSTALL FRONT CENTER FLOOR COVER Installation

13. INSTALL FRONT FLOOR COVER RH

(a) Install the cover with the 3 hole seals and 4 grommets.

14. INSTALL FRONT FLOOR COVER LH

(a) Install the cover with the 3 hole seals and 4 grommets.

15. INSTALL REAR FLOOR SIDE MEMBER COVER RH

(a) Install the cover with the clip, nut, 3 bolts and 2 screws.

Torque : 5.4 Nm (55 kgf-cm, 48 in-lbf)

16. INSTALL REAR FLOOR SIDE MEMBER COVER LH

(a) Install the cover with the clip, nut, 3 bolts and 2 screws.

Torque : 5.4 Nm (55 kgf-cm, 48 in-lbf)

17. INSTALL NO. 5 ROCKER PANEL MOULDING PROTECTOR

(a) Install the protector with the 2 clips and screw.

18. INSTALL NO. 6 ROCKER PANEL MOULDING PROTECTOR

(a) Install the protector with the 2 clips and screw.

19. INSTALL NO. 1 DIFFERENTIAL SUPPORT PROTECTOR Installation

20. INSTALL NO. 2 DIFFERENTIAL SUPPORT PROTECTOR Installation
