METER: METER / GAUGE SYSTEM: OPERATION CHECK

1. INSPECT INDICATOR/WARNING LIGHT

(a) Check the following indicators and warning lights.

*2: w/ Automatic high beam system

*3: w/ Lane-keeping assist system

2. INSPECT SPEEDOMETER

(a) Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.

(b) Turn the power switch on (IG).

(c) Turn the Techstream on.

(d) Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine and ECT / Data List.

(e) According to the display on Techstream, read the Data List.

NOTICE:
Do not use worn, underinflated or overinflated tires, as the speedometer reading will be inaccurate.

(f) Check the deflection width of the speedometer indicator.

0.5 km/h (0.3 mph)

3. INSPECT TACHOMETER

(a) Connect the Techstream and start the engine.

(b) Compare the test results with the tachometer indicator.

DC 13.5 V at 25 °C (77°F):





If the result is not as specified, the speedometer may have a malfunction.

4. INSPECT ENGINE OIL PRESSURE WARNING

(a) Disconnect the connector from the engine oil pressure switch.

(b) Turn the power switch on (IG).

(c) Ground the terminal of the wire harness side connector for 10 seconds or more, and then check the low oil pressure warning light.

OK:

Oil pressure warning message comes on.

5. INSPECT ENGINE OIL LEVEL WARNING

(a) Set the vehicle to "AWD Maintenance Mode" Component Tests and General Diagnostics.

(b) Turn the power switch on (READY) and warm up the engine at an engine speed of 2000 rpm or less until the coolant temperature reaches approximately 80°C (176°F) or more.

(c) Disconnect the engine oil level sensor connector for 40 seconds or more.

(d) Turn the power switch on (IG), and check the multi-information display.

OK:

Low engine oil level message is displayed.

6. INSPECT MULTI-INFORMATION DISPLAY

(a) The multi-information display test is available in "ACTIVE TEST" or "Active Test" Scan Tool Testing and Procedures.
