Engine Immobilizer System

THEFT DETERRENT / KEYLESS ENTRY: ENGINE IMMOBILISER SYSTEM: TERMINALS OF ECU

1. CHECK POWER SWITCH

(a) Measure the resistance and voltage, and check the pulse according to the value(s) in the table below.

Inspection with Power Switch Off

Inspection of Waveforms of Communication Signals between Power Switch and Certification ECU (Smart Key ECU Assembly)

HINT
*: Remove the key battery before performing this inspection.

(b) Inspect using an oscilloscope.

NOTICE:
The waveform shown in the illustration is an example for reference only. Noise, chattering, etc. are not shown.

2. CHECK CERTIFICATION ECU (SMART KEY ECU ASSEMBLY)

(a) Disconnect the H1 ECU connector.

(b) Measure the resistance and voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

* *: In order to prevent the auxiliary battery from being discharged when the vehicle is shipped long distances, a fuse that cuts unnecessary electrical load while the vehicle is being shipped is set in the circuit. If the fuse is removed, the circuit becomes open. If the fuse between the auxiliary battery and terminal CUTB is removed and the circuit is open, the certification ECU (smart key ECU assembly) changes to a certain control mode (example: the transmission of electric waves every 250 ms. that form the detection area stops).

If the result is not as specified, there may be a malfunction on the wire harness side.

(c) Reconnect the H1 ECU connector.

(d) Measure the resistance and voltage, and check the pulse according to the value(s) in the table below.

3. CHECK ID CODE BOX (IMMOBILISER CODE ECU)

(a) Disconnect the H22 box connector.

(b) Measure the resistance and voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

If the result is not as specified, there may be a malfunction on the wire harness side.

(c) Reconnect the H22 box connector.

(d) Measure the voltage and check the pulse according to the value(s) in the table below.

4. CHECK TRANSMISSION CONTROL ECU ASSEMBLY

(a) Disconnect the A21 and A22 ECU connectors.

(b) Measure the voltage and resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

HINT
Measure the values on the wire harness side with the connectors disconnected.

If the result is not as specified, there may be a malfunction in the wire harness.
