DESCRIPTION
The main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU) receives the hazard switch ON signal and controls the operation of the turn signal flasher assembly.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE
PROCEDURE
1. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM
(a) Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
(b) Turn the power switch on (IG).
(c) Turn the Techstream on.
(d) Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Main Body / Data List.
(e) Read the display on the Techstream.
Main Body
OK:
Normal conditions listed above are displayed.
NG -- INSPECT HAZARD WARNING SIGNAL SWITCH ASSEMBLY
OK -- Continue to next step.
2. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING TECHSTREAM
(a) Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
(b) Turn the power switch on (IG).
(c) Turn the Techstream on.
(d) Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Main Body / Active Test.
(e) Check that the hazard lights illuminate.
Main Body
OK:
Hazard lights illuminate.
NG -- CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (TURN & HAZ FUSE - TURN SIGNAL FLASHER ASSEMBLY)
OK -- PROCEED TO NEXT SUSPECTED AREA SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE Exterior Lighting System
3. INSPECT HAZARD WARNING SIGNAL SWITCH ASSEMBLY
(a) Remove the hazard warning signal switch assembly Removal.
(b) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

OK -- Continue to next step.
4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (HAZARD WARNING SIGNAL SWITCH - MAIN BODY ECU)
(a) Disconnect the H17 main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU) connector.
(b) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard Resistance:
NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- REPLACE MAIN BODY ECU (MULTIPLEX NETWORK BODY ECU) Removal
5. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (TURN & HAZ FUSE - TURN SIGNAL FLASHER ASSEMBLY)
(a) Disconnect the H35 turn signal flasher assembly connector.
(b) Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard Voltage:
(c) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard Resistance:
NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- Continue to next step.
6. INSPECT TURN SIGNAL FLASHER ASSEMBLY
(a) Reconnect the H35 turn signal flasher assembly connector.
(b) Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

B -- REPLACE TURN SIGNAL FLASHER ASSEMBLY Removal

7. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (TURN SIGNAL FLASHER - HAZARD WARNING SIGNAL SWITCH ASSEMBLY)
(a) Disconnect the H35 turn signal flasher assembly connector.
(b) Disconnect the H82 hazard warning signal switch assembly connector.
(c) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard Resistance:
NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- Continue to next step.
8. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (HAZARD WARNING SIGNAL SWITCH ASSEMBLY - MAIN BODY ECU)
(a) Disconnect the H16 main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU) connector.
(b) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard Resistance:
NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- Continue to next step.
9. INSPECT HAZARD WARNING SIGNAL SWITCH ASSEMBLY
(a) Reconnect the H35 turn signal flasher assembly connector.
(b) Reconnect the H82 hazard warning signal switch assembly connector.
(c) Reconnect the H16 main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU) connector.
(d) Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.
