Power Mirror Switch: Testing and Inspection

MIRROR (EXT): OUTER MIRROR SWITCH: INSPECTION

1. INSPECT OUTER MIRROR SWITCH ASSEMBLY (w/ Memory)

(a) Check the switch functions (w/ retract mirror).





(1) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Resistance:

If the result is not as specified, replace the outer mirror switch assembly.

(b) Check that the LED illuminates (w/ retract mirror).





(1) Apply auxiliary battery voltage to the outer mirror switch assembly and check that the LED illuminates.

If the result is not as specified, replace the outer mirror switch assembly.

(c) Check retractable outer mirror switch function.

(1) Measure the resistance according to the value in the table below.





Standard Resistance:

If the result is not as specified, replace the retractable outer mirror switch.

(2) Check that the LED illuminates (w/ retract mirror).

(3) Apply auxiliary battery voltage to the outer mirror switch assembly and check that the LED illuminates.

If the result is not as specified, replace the retractable outer mirror switch.

(d) Check the switch functions (w/o retract mirror).

(1) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

If the result is not as specified, replace the outer mirror switch assembly.

(e) Check that the LED illuminates (w/o retract mirror).

(1) Apply auxiliary battery voltage to the outer mirror switch assembly and check that the LED illuminates.

2. INSPECT OUTER MIRROR SWITCH ASSEMBLY (w/o Memory)

(a) Check the switch functions (w/ retract mirror).





(1) Move the mirror select switch to the L position.

(2) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Resistance:





(3) Move the mirror select switch to the R position.

(4) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

If the result is not as specified, replace the outer mirror switch assembly.

(b) Check that the LED illuminates (w/ retract mirror).





(1) Apply auxiliary battery voltage to the outer mirror switch assembly and check that the LED illuminates.

(c) Check the switch functions (w/o retract mirror).





(1) Move the mirror select switch to the L position.

(2) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Resistance:





(3) Move the mirror select switch to the R position.

(4) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

(d) Check that the LED illuminates (w/o retract mirror).
