One Or More Power Seat Motors Do Not Operate





SEAT: FRONT POWER SEAT CONTROL SYSTEM (w/ Memory): One or more Power Seat Motors do not Operate

DESCRIPTION

When a signal is input into the position control ECU built into the front power seat switch LH, the ECU manages the signals received from the front power seat switch, and operates each motor. If the front power seat switch LH receives more than 2 motor operation signals, the motor is stopped. Manual operation is restarted after the front power seat switch LH receives 1 signal only.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

NOTICE:
Inspect the fuses for circuits related to this system before performing the following inspection procedure.

PROCEDURE

1. CHECK CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM

(a) Use the Techstream to check if the CAN communication system is functioning normally How to Proceed With Troubleshooting.

OK:

CAN communication DTC is not output.

NG -- GO TO CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM Diagnosis System
OK -- Continue to next step.

2. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM

(a) Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.

(b) Turn the power switch on (IG).

(c) Turn the Techstream on.

(d) Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Driver Seat / Data List.

(e) Read the Data List according to the display on the Techstream.

OK:

ON or OFF is displayed on the Techstream according to the table above.

NG -- CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (FRONT POWER SEAT SWITCH LH POWER SOURCE)
OK -- Continue to next step.

3. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING TECHSTREAM

(a) Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Driver Seat / Active Test.

(b) Perform the Active Test according to the display on the Techstream.

OK:

The power seat motors operate normally.

NG -- INSPECT FRONT SEAT ASSEMBLY LH

OK -- REPLACE FRONT POWER SEAT SWITCH LH Removal

4. INSPECT FRONT SEAT ASSEMBLY LH

(a) Remove the front seat assembly LH Removal.





(b) Disconnect the T6, T7, T5 and T3 connectors from each motor.

(c) Check operation of the slide motor.

(1) Check if the seat moves smoothly when the auxiliary battery is connected to the slide motor connector terminals.

(d) Check operation of the front vertical motor.





(1) Check if the seat moves smoothly when the auxiliary battery is connected to the front vertical motor connector terminals.

(e) Check operation of the lifter motor.





(1) Check if the seat moves smoothly when the auxiliary battery is connected to the lifter motor connector terminals.

OK:

(1) Check if the seat moves smoothly when the auxiliary battery is connected to the reclining motor connector terminals.

OK -- Continue to next step.

5. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (FRONT POWER SEAT SWITCH LH - SEAT MOTOR)

(a) Disconnect the T9 connector from the front power seat switch LH.

(b) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Resistance:





NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR (FRONT POWER SEAT SWITCH LH - SEAT MOTOR)

OK -- REPLACE FRONT POWER SEAT SWITCH LH Removal

6. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (FRONT POWER SEAT SWITCH LH POWER SOURCE)

(a) Disconnect the T10 connector from the front power seat switch LH.

(b) Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Voltage:





NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR (FRONT POWER SEAT SWITCH LH POWER SOURCE)

OK -- REPLACE FRONT POWER SEAT SWITCH LH Removal
