Engine Lubrication: Testing and Inspection





2AZ-FXE LUBRICATION: LUBRICATION SYSTEM: ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION

1. CHECK ENGINE OIL LEVEL

(a) Set the engine in inspection mode Component Tests and General Diagnostics.

(b) Warm up and stop the engine, and then wait for 5 minutes.

(c) Check that the engine oil level is between the low level and full level marks of the oil dipstick.

If low, check for leakage and add oil up to the full level mark.

NOTICE:
Do not add engine oil to above the full level mark.

2. CHECK ENGINE OIL QUALITY

(a) Check the oil for deterioration, water intrusion, discoloration or thinning.

If the quality is visibly poor, replace the oil.

3. CHECK OIL PRESSURE

(a) Set the engine in inspection mode Component Tests and General Diagnostics.

(b) Warm up and stop the engine.

(c) Remove the oil pressure switch Removal.

(d) Install the oil pressure gauge.

(e) Measure the oil pressure.

Standard Oil Pressure:





If the oil pressure is not as specified, check the oil pump Testing and Inspection.

(f) Install the oil pressure switch Installation.

(g) Check for engine oil leaks.
