Removal





HEATING / AIR CONDITIONING: COMPRESSOR: REMOVAL

1. PRECAUTION

Hybrid Control System: Precaution

w/ Navigation System:

NOTICE:
After the power switch is turned off, the display and navigation module display (HDD navigation system) records various types of memory and settings. As a result, after turning the power switch off, make sure to wait at least 60 seconds before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.

2. RECOVER REFRIGERANT FROM REFRIGERATION SYSTEM Service and Repair

3. REMOVE LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT FLOOR MAT Removal

4. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL Removal

5. REMOVE RADIATOR ASSEMBLY

(a) Remove the radiator assembly Removal.

6. REMOVE BATTERY SERVICE HOLE COVER Removal

7. REMOVE SERVICE PLUG GRIP Removal

8. CHECK TERMINAL VOLTAGE

CAUTION:
* Do not touch the high voltage connectors and terminals for 10 minutes after the hybrid battery supply plug assembly is removed.
* Wear insulated gloves.
NOTICE:
Do not start the engine with the hybrid battery supply plug assembly removed because it may cause a malfunction.

(a) Remove the 2 bolts and connector cover assembly.





NOTICE:
Make sure to pull the inverter cover straight up, as a connector is connected to the bottom of the cover.

(b) Check the terminal voltage Removal.

CAUTION:
Wear insulated gloves.

(c) Temporarily install the connector cover with the bolt to prevent any foreign objects or water from entering the inverter with converter assembly.





(d) Install the connector cover assembly with the 2 bolts.





Torque : 8.0 Nm (82 kgf-cm, 71 in-lbf)

CAUTION:
Wear insulated gloves.

NOTICE:
* Make sure that the interlock is fully engaged.
* Do not allow any foreign objects or water to enter the inverter with converter assembly.

9. DISCONNECT DISCHARGE HOSE SUB-ASSEMBLY

(a) Remove the bolt and disconnect the discharge hose sub-assembly from the electric inverter compressor.





(b) Remove the O-ring from the discharge hose sub-assembly.

NOTICE:
Seal the openings of the disconnected parts using vinyl tape to prevent entry of moisture and foreign matter.

10. DISCONNECT SUCTION HOSE SUB-ASSEMBLY

(a) Remove the bolt and disconnect the suction hose sub-assembly from the electric inverter compressor.





(b) Remove the O-ring from the suction hose sub-assembly.

NOTICE:
Seal the openings of the disconnected parts using vinyl tape to prevent entry of moisture and foreign matter.

11. REMOVE ELECTRIC INVERTER COMPRESSOR

(a) Release the green-colored lock and disconnect the connector [A] as shown in the illustration.





CAUTION:
Wear insulated gloves when performing the procedures.

NOTICE:
Insulate the connector by sealing it with tape.

(b) Disconnect the connector [B].

(c) Remove the bolt, 2 nuts and electric inverter compressor.





(d) Using an E8 "TORX" socket wrench, remove the 2 stud bolts.
