Installation





HEATING / AIR CONDITIONING: AIR CONDITIONING UNIT: INSTALLATION

1. TEMPORARILY TIGHTEN AIR CONDITIONING UNIT ASSEMBLY

NOTICE:
* Be sure to support the air conditioning unit assembly when removing it because failure to do so may cause the bracket of the air conditioning unit assembly to break.
* When installing the air conditioning unit, eliminate static electricity by touching the vehicle body to prevent the components from being damaged.

(a) Engage the clamp and connect the connector.

(b) Temporarily tighten the air conditioning unit assembly with the bolt and nut.

(c) Engage the cooler drain hose as shown in the illustration.

NOTICE:
Connect the cooler drain hose firmly to prevent water leaks.





2. INSTALL NO. 4 HEATER TO REGISTER DUCT

(a) Install the No. 4 heater to register duct with the clip to the instrument panel reinforcement assembly.

3. INSTALL REAR NO. 1 AIR DUCT

(a) Engage the 4 claws to install the rear No. 1 air duct.

4. INSTALL INSTRUMENT PANEL REINFORCEMENT ASSEMBLY

(a) Install the instrument panel reinforcement assembly with the 5 bolts [A].

(b) Install the air conditioning unit assembly with the 3 bolts [B].


Bolt B - Torque : 9.8 Nm (100 kgf-cm, 87 in-lbf)

HINT
Tighten the bolts in the order shown in the illustration.





(c) Engage each clamp.

(d) Connect each connector.

(e) Install the 2 screws.

(f) Install the bolt and connect the earth wire.

Torque : 8.4 Nm (86 kgf-cm, 74 in-lbf)

5. INSTALL AIR CONDITIONING UNIT ASSEMBLY

(a) Install the air conditioning unit assembly with the bolt and nut.





Bolt - Torque : 9.8 Nm (100 kgf-cm, 87 in-lbf)

Nut - Torque : 9.8 Nm (100 kgf-cm, 87 in-lbf)

6. INSTALL ECU INTEGRATION BOX RH

(a) Install the ECU integration box RH with the bolt and 2 nuts.

Bolt - Torque : 9.8 Nm (100 kgf-cm, 87 in-lbf)

Nut - Torque : 9.8 Nm (100 kgf-cm, 87 in-lbf)

(b) Engage the clamp and connect each connector.

7. INSTALL AIR DUCT ASSEMBLY

(a) Install the air duct assembly with the 2 nuts.

Torque : 9.8 Nm (100 kgf-cm, 87 in-lbf)

8. INSTALL NO. 2 INSTRUMENT PANEL STAY

(a) Install the No. 2 instrument panel stay with the bolt and nut.

9. INSTALL CENTER INSTRUMENT PANEL TO COWL BRACE

(a) Install the center instrument panel to cowl brace with the 2 bolts.

10. INSTALL LOWER DEFROSTER NOZZLE ASSEMBLY

(a) Engage the 6 claws and install the lower defroster nozzle assembly.

(b) Engage each clamp.

11. INSTALL NO. 2 INSTRUMENT PANEL BRACE SUB-ASSEMBLY

(a) Install the No. 2 instrument panel brace sub-assembly with the screw.

(b) Install the 2 bolts.

(c) Install the nut.

Torque : 21 Nm (217 kgf-cm, 16 ft-lbf)

(d) Engage each clamp.

(e) Install the bolt and connect the earth wire.

Torque : 8.4 Nm (86 kgf-cm, 74 in-lbf)

12. INSTALL WINDSHIELD WIPER RELAY ASSEMBLY Installation

13. INSTALL NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL BRACE SUB-ASSEMBLY

(a) Install the No. 1 instrument panel brace sub-assembly with the screw.

(b) Install the 2 bolts.

(c) Install the nut.

Torque : 21 Nm (217 kgf-cm, 16 ft-lbf)

(d) Check that the power switch is off.

(e) Check that the cable is disconnected from the negative (-) battery terminal.

CAUTION:
Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.

(f) Connect the center airbag sensor connector to the center airbag sensor assembly as shown in the illustration.

NOTICE:
When connecting any airbag connector, take care not to damage the airbag wire harness.

(g) Check that the waterproof sheet on the top of the center airbag sensor is not folded or deformed.

(h) Check that there is no looseness in the installation parts of the center airbag sensor assembly.

(i) Connect each connector.

(j) Engage each clamp.

(k) Install the bolt and connect the earth wire.

Torque : 8.4 Nm (86 kgf-cm, 74 in-lbf)

14. INSTALL BACK-UP BATTERY WITH BRACKET (w/ Manual (SOS) Switch)

(a) Engage the clamp and connect the connector.

(b) Install the back-up battery with bracket with the 2 bolts.

15. INSTALL INSTRUMENT PANEL JUNCTION BLOCK ASSEMBLY Installation

16. INSTALL NO. 2 HEATER TO REGISTER DUCT

(a) Install the No. 2 heater to register duct with the 3 clips.

17. INSTALL INSTRUMENT PANEL TO FLOOR BRACE SUB-ASSEMBLY

(a) Install the instrument panel to floor brace sub-assembly with the 2 bolts.

18. INSTALL DISPLAY AND NAVIGATION MODULE DISPLAY WITH BRACKET (w/ Navigation System) Installation

19. INSTALL REAR NO. 2 AIR DUCT

(a) Engage the 2 claws to install the rear No. 2 air duct.

20. INSTALL REAR NO. 3 AIR DUCT

(a) Engage the 2 claws to install the rear No. 3 air duct.

(b) Engage the 2 claws and guide.

(c) Install the clip.

(d) Engage the 2 fasteners to install the floor carpet to the original position.

(e) Engage the 2 claws to close the 2 door scuff plate clamps as shown in the illustration.





(f) Engage the guide and claw to install the front floor caution plate cover as shown in the illustration.





21. INSTALL REAR NO. 4 AIR DUCT

(a) Engage the 2 claws to install the rear No. 4 air duct.

(b) Engage the 2 claws and guide.

(c) Install the 2 clips.

(d) Engage the 2 fasteners to install the floor carpet to the original position as shown in the illustration.

(e) Engage the 2 claws to close the 2 door scuff plate clamps as shown in the illustration.





22. INSTALL REAR NO. 6 AIR DUCT

(a) Engage the 2 guides and 4 claws, and install the rear No. 6 air duct.

23. INSTALL REAR NO. 5 AIR DUCT

HINT
Use the same procedure for the rear No. 5 air duct and rear No. 6 air duct.

24. INSTALL REAR NO. 1 HEATER REGISTER BEZEL (for LH Side)

(a) Install the rear No. 1 heater register bezel with the 2 screws.

(b) Engage the 4 claws.

25. INSTALL REAR NO. 1 HEATER REGISTER BEZEL (for RH Side)

HINT
Use the same procedure for the RH side and LH side.

26. CONNECT INLET HEATER WATER HOSE

(a) Using pliers, grip the claws of the clip and slide the clip to connect the inlet heater water hose.

27. CONNECT OUTLET HEATER WATER HOSE

(a) Using pliers, grip the claws of the clip and slide the clip to connect the outlet heater water hose.

28. CONNECT AIR CONDITIONING TUBE AND ACCESSORY ASSEMBLY

(a) Remove the attached vinyl tape from the pipe.

(b) Sufficiently apply compressor oil to a new O-ring and the fitting surface of the air conditioning tube and accessory assembly.

Compressor oil:

ND-OIL 11 or equivalent

NOTICE:
* Keep the O-ring and O-ring fitting surfaces clean from dirt or any foreign objects.
* Do not use any compressor oil other than ND-OIL 11 or equivalent. If any compressor oil other than ND-OIL 11 or equivalent is used, compressor motor insulation performance may decrease, resulting in a leakage of electric power.

(c) Install the O-ring on the air conditioning tube and accessory assembly.

(d) Install the air conditioning tube and accessory assembly.

29. CONNECT SUCTION PIPE SUB-ASSEMBLY

(a) Remove the attached vinyl tape from the pipe.

(b) Sufficiently apply compressor oil to a new O-ring and the fitting surface of the suction pipe sub-assembly.

Compressor oil:

ND-OIL 11 or equivalent

(c) Install the O-ring on the suction pipe sub-assembly.

NOTICE:
* Keep the O-ring and O-ring fitting surfaces clean from dirt or any foreign objects.
* Do not use any compressor oil other than ND-OIL 11 or equivalent. If any compressor oil other than ND-OIL 11 or equivalent is used, compressor motor insulation performance may decrease, resulting in a leakage of electric power.

(d) Install the suction pipe sub-assembly.

(e) Move the hook connector in the direction indicated by the arrow in the illustration.





(f) Insert the pipe joint into the fitting hole securely and tighten the bolt.

Torque : 9.8 Nm (100 kgf-cm, 87 in-lbf)

30. INSTALL STEERING POST ASSEMBLY (for Manual Tilt and Manual Telescopic Steering Column)

(a) Install the steering post assembly Installation.

31. INSTALL STEERING POST ASSEMBLY (for Power Tilt and Power Telescopic Steering Column)

(a) Install the steering post assembly Installation.

32. INSTALL OUTER COWL TOP PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY Installation

33. INSTALL COWL BODY MOUNTING REINFORCEMENT RH Installation

34. INSTALL NO. 2 HEATER AIR DUCT SPLASH SHIELD SEAL Installation

(a) Install the windshield wiper motor and link assembly Installation.

37. INSTALL LOWER INSTRUMENT PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY

(a) Install the lower instrument panel sub-assembly Installation.

38. INSTALL MULTI-MEDIA INTERFACE ECU ASSEMBLY

(a) Install the multi-media interface ECU assembly Installation.

39. INSTALL STEREO COMPONENT AMPLIFIER ASSEMBLY WITH BRACKET

(a) Install the stereo component amplifier assembly with bracket Installation.

40. CHARGE WITH REFRIGERANT Service and Repair

41. WARM UP COMPRESSOR Service and Repair

42. INSPECT FOR REFRIGERANT LEAK Service and Repair

43. INSPECT FOR COOLANT LEAK (for Engine) On-Vehicle Inspection

44. INSPECT RESERVOIR TANK ENGINE COOLANT LEVEL (for Engine) On-Vehicle Inspection
