HYBRID / BATTERY CONTROL: HV RELAY ASSEMBLY: INSTALLATION

1. INSTALL HIGH VOLTAGE FUSE

HINT
Perform this procedure only when replacement of the high voltage fuse is necessary.

(a) Install the high voltage fuse with the 2 bolts.

Torque : 4.5 Nm (46 kgf-cm, 40 in-lbf)

NOTICE:
Be sure to use a torque wrench to tighten the bolts.

2. INSTALL HYBRID BATTERY JUNCTION BLOCK ASSEMBLY

CAUTION:
Wear insulated gloves.

(a) Install the hybrid battery junction block assembly and filter noise capacitor with the 3 nuts.

Torque : 7.5 Nm (76 kgf-cm, 66 in-lbf)

(b) Connect the 5 connectors to the hybrid battery junction block assembly.

NOTICE:
* Make sure that the connectors are fully engaged.
* Be sure to connect each connector to the correct terminal shown in the illustration.

(c) Connect the 2 connectors to the hybrid battery junction block assembly.

NOTICE:
Make sure that the connectors are fully engaged.

3. CONNECT FRAME WIRE

CAUTION:
Wear insulated gloves.

(a) Connect the frame wire with the 2 nuts.

Torque : 9.0 Nm (92 kgf-cm, 80 in-lbf)

NOTICE:
* Make sure that the ends of the frame wire do not cross over each other.
* Be sure to connect the frame wire to each correct terminal shown in the illustration.

(b) Install the battery shield contact.

NOTICE:
Be sure to install the battery shield contact in the correct direction.

4. INSTALL NO. 5 HYBRID BATTERY INTAKE DUCT

(a) Install the No. 5 HV battery intake duct.

NOTICE:
Ensure that the duct is installed securely.

5. CHECK HIGH VOLTAGE CABLE CONNECTION CONDITION

CAUTION:
Wear insulated gloves.

(a) Check that each wire harness is installed securely.

NOTICE:
* Make sure that the ends of the frame wire do not cross over each other.
* Be sure to connect the frame wire to the correct terminals shown in the illustration.
* The connectors should be connected securely.
* The nuts should be fastened securely.

6. INSTALL NO. 1 HYBRID BATTERY SHIELD SUB-ASSEMBLY

CAUTION:
Wear insulated gloves.

(a) Install the No. 1 hybrid battery shield sub-assembly with the 8 nuts.

Torque : 7.5 Nm (76 kgf-cm, 66 in-lbf)

(b) Install the battery cover lock striker, then push the button to lock it.

(c) Connect the 3 wire harness clamps to the No. 1 hybrid battery shield sub-assembly.

7. INSTALL NO. 4 HYBRID BATTERY SHIELD PANEL

CAUTION:
Wear insulated gloves.

(a) Install the No. 4 hybrid battery shield panel with the 3 bolts and 2 nuts.

Torque : 8.0 Nm (82 kgf-cm, 71 in-lbf)

(b) Install the battery cover lock striker, then push the button to lock it.

11. INSTALL TOOL WITH STAY BOX SUB-ASSEMBLY

12. INSTALL REAR SEATBACK ASSEMBLY
