Installation

SUPPLEMENTAL RESTRAINT SYSTEMS: FRONT PASSENGER AIRBAG ASSEMBLY: INSTALLATION

1. INSTALL NO. 3 INSTRUMENT PANEL WIRE

(a) Connect the 2 airbag connectors to the front passenger airbag assembly.





NOTICE:
* When connecting any airbag connector, take care not to damage the airbag wire harness.
* Be sure to only connect the connectors to each corresponding color.

(b) Push in the 2 locks to install the 2 airbag connectors.

(c) Engage the clamp to install the No. 3 instrument panel wire to the front passenger airbag assembly.

2. INSTALL FRONT PASSENGER AIRBAG ASSEMBLY

(a) Engage the 3 hooks.

(b) Push the front passenger airbag assembly to engage the 3 hooks.

(c) Engage the 2 pins.

(d) Install the 2 screws to install the front passenger airbag assembly.

(e) Install the 2 clamps.

3. INSTALL UPPER INSTRUMENT PANEL ASSEMBLY Installation

4. CONNECT NO. 3 INSTRUMENT PANEL WIRE

(a) Check that the power switch is off.

(b) Check that the cable is disconnected from the negative (-) battery terminal.

CAUTION:
Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.

(c) Connect the connector.





NOTICE:
When connecting any airbag connector, take care not to damage the airbag wire harness.

5. INSTALL NO. 1 DEFROSTER NOZZLE GARNISH

Refer to the procedure from Install No. 1 Defroster Nozzle Garnish Installation.

6. PERFORM DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK

(a) Perform a diagnostic system check Reading and Clearing Diagnostic Trouble Codes.
