BRAKE CONTROL / DYNAMIC CONTROL SYSTEMS: STEERING ANGLE SENSOR: REMOVAL
NOTICE:
* Do not remove the steering angle sensor from the spiral cable.
* While the battery is connected, even if the power switch is off, the brake control system activates when the brake pedal is depressed or any door courtesy switch is turned on. Therefore, when servicing the brake system components, do not depress the brake pedal or open/close the doors while the battery is connected.
HINT
The steering angle sensor is a component of the spiral cable with sensor sub-assembly. If the steering angle sensor malfunctions, replace the spiral cable with sensor sub-assembly.

2. ALIGN FRONT WHEELS FACING STRAIGHT AHEAD
3. REMOVE STEERING WHEEL ASSEMBLY

Refer to the procedure up to Remove Steering Wheel Assembly Removal.
4. REMOVE LOWER NO. 2 STEERING COLUMN COVER (for Power Tilt and Power Telescopic Steering Column) Removal
5. REMOVE LOWER STEERING COLUMN COVER (for Manual Tilt and Manual Telescopic Steering Column) Removal
6. REMOVE LOWER STEERING COLUMN COVER (for Power Tilt and Power Telescopic Steering Column) Removal
7. REMOVE UPPER STEERING COLUMN COVER (for Power Tilt and Power Telescopic Steering Column) Removal
8. REMOVE UPPER STEERING COLUMN COVER (for Manual Tilt and Manual Telescopic Steering Column) Removal
9. REMOVE SPIRAL CABLE WITH SENSOR SUB-ASSEMBLY
(a) Remove the spiral cable with sensor sub-assembly Removal.
NOTICE:
* Do not replace the spiral cable with sensor sub-assembly with the battery connected and the power switch on (IG).
* Do not rotate the spiral cable with sensor sub-assembly with the battery connected and the power switch on (IG).
* Ensure that the steering wheel is installed and aligned straight when inspecting the steering angle sensor.
* Do not remove the steering angle sensor from the spiral cable with sensor sub-assembly.
